After wandering off, away from the protection of Verfolgt Castle, you find yourself in a very thick and murky part of the East Wood. A thick fog obscures your vision, and you begin tripping and tangling yourself in vast clumps of brambles. As you struggle you can feel an unsettling atmosphere creeping in about you, and you can't shake the uncanny feeling that you are being watched. Quite suddenly you hear movement through the thorns behind you and you turn, shaking yourself free from your snares and flapping your wings feverishly to clear the fog. A tall, dark figure looms before you, its contours glowing in the light of the mushrooms that grow about you.
"Hmmmmm, what have we here?" a deep voice calls from the shadows. "A lost dragon, is it?" The figure weaves about effortlessly through the tangled thorns. You struggle to keep an eye on it, turning your head this way and that. "I wonder what they're doing here, of all places?" A flash of movement catches the corner of your eye, and a mocking laugh echoes about you. You call out for the figure to show itself, and despite your best efforts to sound confident your voice trembles slightly. The laugh resounds again, and a gigantic beast emerges from the shadow. You recognize it as an Imperial soon enough, and the dragon sneers down upon you, wings extended partway.
"I commend your bravery, feigned or not," he croons, trying to put a claw to your face. You swat it away nervously, and he almost looks taken aback, if just for a moment. "What a delicious little thing you are." He begins moving towards you, teeth bared. You try your best to back away, but your wings catch in the thorns surrounding you, keeping you pinned. "No one knows you're here, do they?" he asks in a condescending tone, his tongue sliding out from his jaw. "You would certainly make a good sacrifice to the Shadowbinder. After all, who's to come looking for you if you're already lost beyond hope?"

Genji is the only remaining child of Takkun's first nest, and rightfully so. After refusing to be sold, he fought mercilessly for a place in the Clan, trying to prove his worth to his father. When his position was secured steadfastly, Genji turned his sights to something far bigger; pleasing the Shadowbinder. She was the entire reason he fought so restlessly to stay, and he would henceforth devote his entire life to her. Genji spends most of his time stalking through the Clan, searching for weak dragons or hatchlings to sacrifice to his god. Whenever he finds a suitable candidate he gets straight to work, feverishly performing his decrepit sacrificial ceremonies. Genji's complete devotion has brought him closer to the Shadowbinder, but it is never enough. Moonglow thorns tangle themselves about his entire body and he adorns a shady sash at his side; both marks of his dedication.
He is hated by everyone in the Clan for his reckless acts, though this doesn't bother him in the slightest. It is no secret that he immensely enjoys the fear he strikes into the weaker dragons of the lair. He lusts after this attention, driving his acts of immorality further and further until he is stopped by Takkun. After being put back in his place, Genji will tone down his acts, but only for a while. Soon enough he will spiral back into his depraved habits, and the cycle will continue on.
The Imperial has organized a small but dedicated cult, which resides in the abandoned ruins deep in the East Wood. The cult pays homage to the Shadowbinder, exalting dragon after dragon in hopes of her becoming more powerful. Their only dream in life is for her to rise up and bathe Sorineth in an impenetrable darkness, plunging the entire world into shadow. After the cult grew out of control they were banished from the castle, but they still flourish in the dark of the woods. Genji orchestrates their every move and will, and none dare to challenge his word. He has taken the spiral Psilocybin as his mate, and the two of them share the intense desire for the Shadowbinder to rise into supremacy over the land.
