I N T R O D U C T I O N

Strolling through the castle courtyard, you are surrounded by huge crowds of dragons, all of which seem more interested in their own affairs than anything else. Dragons hauling around heavy packs and pulling carts narrowly clip each other's sides as they travel down the roads. A few have even bumped into you and carried on without so much as a glance in your direction. You finally find a safe place to rest atop a fallen pillar just off the main road. The surface is cracked and weathered, covered in ivy and prickly vine. You manage to brush away some of the tendrils before climbing onto the bare stone. It seems other dragons have done the same- from your new vantage point you can see others like you perched atop cart roofs and weathered columns. You're finally free of the chaotic bustle of the courtyard when everything stops.

There is a tangible tension in the air, almost as if a storm has suddenly swept over the castle. The dragons in the road slow to a halt, and a murmur passes through the crowd. You strain to make out the words, but they all blend together in a quiet drone amidst the sounds of the night. Far away, you hear a rush of movement. The crowd looks up and immediately begins to scramble out of the road. Merchants snatch up their carts and push them off wherever they can, while those unburdened by possessions simply take wing and disappear. A few individuals freeze at the side of the path, almost cowering as a huge shape draws near. Now you see him.

A huge and foreboding dragon walks through the courtyard, wings aloft and head high. His presence is almost suffocating. The lightning magic coursing through his body crackles across his scales and fur, dancing along the immeasurable array of scars that cover his body. With each step his claws dig into the ground, and the earth crunches and cracks beneath his weight. The Imperial glances around as he moves, and the two of you suddenly lock eyes. You're paralyzed; however much you want to look away you cannot. His eyes narrow for a moment before his mouth stretches back in a horrible toothy grin. Your heart drops into your stomach. He finally looks away, spreading his wings and taking a few heavy bounds forward before lifting off into the air. As he circles higher into the sky, you finally let out the breath you didn't know you were holding. Everyone around you seems to have felt the same, and all of you share a quiet moment of fear and awe as you look at each other with wide eyes. There was no question who ruled the castle. Without a single word his presence told it all.

_HISTORY_

____From the beginning of the Clan of the Winding Woods, Takkun was there. Years and years ago, when the original progenitors discovered the castle, they welcomed several dragons into their home. Takkun arrived early and full of ambition. He left his homeland with grand visions and even grander will to achieve them. It was Takkun who drove Hallow and Bogwood from the castle they themselves had claimed, and he has ruled with an iron fist ever since.

Under Takkun's rule the castle and its inhabitants fluctuated wildly, but he would not give in. The Imperial was determined to build his empire from the very dirt beneath his claws, and so he did. He grew powerful enough to defend his kingdom, and surrounded himself with dragons capable of doing the same.

It was through his careful guidance that the lair became more than just a home for out of place dragons; the entire castle transformed into a hub of commerce and trade. Takkun makes sure that every dragon under his protection is doing their part to give back to him and his castle.

____Ambitious. Violent. Powerful. Takkun is everything a true dictator could ever hope to be. He has a strong personality and has the wit to use it. Takkun has always wanted more. No matter what he has, he knows that he can always become even greater, grow even more powerful. Even when the odds are against him, he will never give in. He knows his own power and will use it to his every advantage.

Though he is predisposed to violence, Takkun is also rather strategic. He knows how to control the inhabitants of his empire and won't hesitate to use whatever he needs to get things done- regardless of the ethical implications.
