Biography
Domin (doe-minn) is an an avid map-maker, but not in the way one may expect. As opposed to graphing out maps on paper, he builds topographic maps upon heavy slabs of stone using clay and dries it with his fire. He goes through several phases of building and often insists upon visiting the place he is making a map of so that he can get the size and shapes of his map just right. He has an innate gift for being able to know and then replicate the land around him, despite his poor eyesight. Domin takes commissions for maps and can create pieces as small as the palm of his hand or big enough for an imperial dragon to lay spread-eagle upon. Upon joining the clan, he quickly made himself at home within the tunnel-caves and picked a large, central cave that he could expand upon and set to building his largest project yet.
Domin has a permanent hunch in his back from so much leaning over his work, but it doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest. While friendly, he is perfectly content to spend days alone in his dark cave working on projects. While large, he is very delicate with his claws and can create perfect little model cities and carve out caves. He is nearly blind (and only sees in shades of grey and brown), but has very little trouble navigating unless there are lots of others around - he claims he can feel the vibrations in the earth and that gives him enough information to get by.
Though his creations are brilliantly detailed, he has taken suggestions to heart and is keeping a lookout for an apprentice of sorts to colour and enhance his works.
Kipper oftentimes takes up residence in the huge, sprawling landscape Domin has created in his cave. They are small enough to fit into the little nooks and crannies and delight in exploring when they tire of causing trouble. Domin doesn't particularly mind, Kipper is generally careful enough not to break anything (though every now and then he finds a mountain-top that has been haphazardly glued on crookedly, or a model house that has collapsed from Kipper trying to climb inside).
Despite all his skill at crafting inanimate objects, Domin is very poor at sculpting living creatures. They come out odd and disproportionate - ironically, he can mimic other artists' statues of real creatures just fine.
