Biography

Within the darkest thickets of night, pinpricks of light catch your eyes... Always, just out of reach. Something watches; it lets itself be known but not seen, and it's gaze guides you through the woods in a hustled fear. But little do you know, the fear is not the intention. The guidance is. You've been directed exactly where you need to go...

Prequel Clip: The underground, the Subterrainian
Years ago and years long past, before the rising of clans. Before the creation of the Subterrainian and its woes, before the exile of the tunnel's protectors, before the Fractallians were even a thought on the wind... Two blessed drakes, swirling with gold dust and gemstone necklaces, met as they always did. In frustration, with too much time between visits, piled on each other as only lovers could stand. Black bodies his them in the gloom even as their golden markings shone as the old gem mine's only sun. A spiral, wrapped around the waist, shoulders, and neck of her skydancer mate. Pherion; the power-hungry serpent. Her foundation, the skydancer and stuck-in-the-past Adondis, and the tutor who gifted her the powers of midastaltion. The use of all that glitters to inflict all that hurts.

"Come on now, you see it in their beady little eyes! These other dragons- they're scared. They're hungry, and cowardly, and foolish little things that aren't sure how to look for the future. They think any day could be their last down here, some creature clawing its way up from the tunnels and picking them off just like that! We know better. We are better, and we can make them see it! We could lead! We could have so, so much power Adondis. Don't you want it?"

He sighed, as he always did with these meetings, even with his love. She would never be satisfied with what he'd given, and he would never give up on trying to sate her. "Pherion. There are, protectors here, who roam between the families. What would-"

"Oh don't say protectors! I know it's just her. The one you could never get over, that obelisk- gah, when was she ever there for my family? My parents, my life? She saved you once- and where does that matter? there are hundreds that curse her! Curse her for her inaction in their need. If you are so stuck and stubborn about Toham not joining your side, become her." The glint in the spiral's eye, a mad sparkling of genius fury, set a worry into the corner of her mate's mind. Her vagueness, a hint towards a new scheme.

A drake of few words. "Become her?"

A drake of many. "Protect them, Adondis. Become like her. Shelter them with your magic! I can keep them working for their next meal, make them provide for each other and build the clan structure. You can be their guard- I can take care of the mess of having t- many, dragonss in one place, you can be the hero you've always wished! I can- I can-" So eager and hungry, Pherion began to twist and writhe, tightening around Adondis to a point of discomfort. "I can make things perfect, Adondis. They will feed us. You will keep them safe like you never quiet about..." She trailed off snarling to herself, her tail tip flicking back and forth and hitting Adondis quite hard in the thigh. He said nothing about it.

"And you would handle their disputes."

"I would handle everything, Adondis. Everything."

"I would not have to speak, and lead. Only do what I wish."

"Anything you wish and not a spot more!"

"..." pondering, the skydancer shifted on the ground, pulling his front legs under his ribs. Pherion couldn't help but stay constricting, his shimmery python, his eden's serpent. He resisted this concept so deeply, worried for only one reason. He promised Toham he wouldn't interfere with her mission... He promised he'd listen to her moral code, letting the dragons have their independence. He was allowed to help her only because of that promise. Would this be like the self-proclaimed warlords of the deep? The ones who took dragons away from their dens, dragging them below, never to be seen again...

"I have a rule for you, Pherion." She could have cried out in joy right then and there. After so many meetings of this topic, he was finally listening, finally falling for it. She would be an empress if he was able to lure dragons into her clutches. She had no repore, no status, but he could sway so many to be her minions. She could live a life of luxury, without the chore of taking care of her survival. She could be an empress... She nearly missed his next words in her thought. "They must join willingly."

That was it. It was that easy; coerce, instead of take. Convince, that was IT! she threw her head back and laughed, finally loosening her grip around her mate and letting her voice echo through the cave around them. She was never afraid of what would hear her. No, not with Adondis the powerful, not in their domain. Not in the world where soon this would be her kingdom. Her clan, her own personal playthings! Adondis listened to her cackle with a small smile. For all his talents, he could never understand how deep her cruelty ran. He excused how much she couldn't hide though- a sin just as great.

"If I use your name, Adondis? We'll have half the underground at our beck and call, and neither of us will have to raise a claw tip against them. No dragon will be forced to us. Not now, and nevermore."

He nodded, nuzzling his head into hers. And that was point of a new era in the Subterrainian's history. The beginning of all the conflicts, of all the shattered lives and forged bonds, of a war between cold and dark, creating a civilization that only the breaking of the Sky could interfere with.

Adondis and Pherion; emperor and empress of the Subterrainian, created out of love, meeting out of love, creating a future of distrust, of preying on the weak, of hate. Because, in her own words...

Don't they just love it when all their decisions are made for them?

Current Commission Work:
Ok, last piece!! These have been fun :)

The Arcanist holds a strict set of values; curiosity, knowledge, and research above all else. His children and chosen follow suit with their naturally inquisitive natures and obsession with information, sometimes even at the cost of their safety or lives. Not all dragons see this drive as a boon, given how it can take over one's entire life... So when two dragons, on the run from their homeland due to self-inflicted woes, have one of their eggs hatch just between the border of arcane and ice? Well well well... What else would they do with the squirming loud hatchling, when they must be quiet and still? Leave it behind.

The young Earth-toned coatl couldn't know any better than to ooh and ahh at the world around him, the massive floating rock spires and impossibly twisted landscape an absolute marvel to a child. And all these strange creatures-! He had nobody to ask to know the names of the frogs, the eagles, and the ants. He watched, pondered, made up his own titles and learned from them as much as he could.

He also didn't know what was dangerous, and what was not. Such was the case when he stuck his nose in a new-smelling burrow as he wandered the empty world alone, and encountered he nearest thing he'd seen to be like himself- a snake. An adder, likely also twisted by the arcane lands given the pink striping along its body, and disoriented confusion as it tried to strike him. He shot back with an angry hum- the snake, pausing in its rear at the sound.

low hums, a curious noise. The coatl stopped, and the snake began to slither away- but began again, and it creeped back out from the hole, seemingly mesmerized. And then another, from the hole, and a third. Even with nothing going for him- somehow, in some way, he had a gift.

He was a lucky arcane child; nobody was there to explain otherwise, after all! He couldn't merely sooth these snakes, but speak to them. Even request them to do things for him, though they didn't have to. Sadly, they couldn't speak back to their new large and scary friend.

The blessings continued as he grew and watched the floating spires of rock, the strangeness of the land he roamed, and started to make sense of it all- the concept of magic. The snakes nudged him onwards as he chose to pursue and investigate, the mere needs of survival long since accounted for by his natural draconic strengths. He had an affinity for it after all, as all arcane dragons did, and through many years of trial and error could manipulate magic just as well as any wizard or studious dragon, confined by their understanding of language, numbers and order. Vrtra could tap into something much more primal, without those limits, and to the naked eye his level of power seemed to be professional, even fantastical. He used a twisted branch of an arcane tree to better focus the energy without the unpleasant stinging sensation in his claws. Yet again, nobody was there to explain any of this, and he never met another dragon in all his years up to adulthood. He never knew to call himself a dragon. He was a larger, stranger snake.

Eventually, once he was too far gone to be recivilized, he discovered that there were entire cities of creatures like him when he stumbled over the border into the wind realms, grasses and rodents pleasing to his friendly snakes. Confused and alarmed, he cautiously explored the streets of high-flying civilization with his serpents hissing on his shoulders, and nobody paid him much mind... This meant new things to watch and learn from, new concepts to grasp in his quiet contemplations. Setting himself down in the street, his observations began as he lifted his snakes from his staff onto the ground in front of him telepathically, hummed to them his curiosities...

And to the surrounding drakes, this was a performance.

All he cares for is to learn and watch, yet by nature Vrtra is a spectacle to behold and an oddity to treasure. Perhaps someday, a fellow coatl will think to hum back to him, and understand his perspective?

- make scries with glimmer on ancient(s). 175g.

- idk if this one will sell, try 60g and reduce by 10 per week until you hit 30g.
- good luck, try 60g. No reduction suggestion, it's good colors just unpopular combo.
- 200g. Good boi mirror. Make sure to get some scries!
- Unfortunate eyes. 60g, no suggested reduction. I'll drop some scries.
- ooh! try for 400g! Allow haggling up to 300g~

- try for 60g? IG?
- looks like you already have a plan for this one, I would get down in the 3 digit range personally (900g) but if you're got at least 1 interested party, go ham.
- unfortunate, but still workable tert. 120g, reduce to 80 if you have to.
- auction. SB 400g, AB 1.2kg, and I'll drop some scries. faux xyy
- aww lil valentine baby. Seen a few like this, but with red eyes so they fit the theme more... try 120-150g.

- Suprisingly, this color combo could really win you some buyers. Try 500g, wouldn't go lower than 350 but you might hit a sweet spot around 400g.
- someone, some strange someone, would really enjoy this. Maybe. 25g.
