Dianthus

Give a greeting to this great gal who joined the clan on the night of February 20th, 2022 at 7:54 pm, from a Dragon Wonder Trade put on by user 8611945 and who is one of the clan's Soil-Tender! :D

Dianthus comes from a clan that makes their home in the realm of Earth near the Pillar of the World. She was the first born from the second clutch of her parents & though being the oldest in this small handful, she was not the first of her parents' and grew up getting to know the ones who were there until they left to their own lives' journeys or became Exalted. As they all grew, each felt the call for their lives away from the clan though she tried to maintain their connections & ties. As the family kept dwindling however, Dianthus also began to wonder what else may be out there for her and what was so interesting that called all of her siblings away. With this in mind, she went to the Auction House to see if anyone may find her and take them to their clan. However, there were no bites so when a network of people in the realm who ran several clans separately decided to come together, spearheaded by one named 8611945, in a Dragon trade, Dianthus was chosen from her clan to participate, and the leader of this clan was also participating and thus a trade was initiated and Dianthus landed in CascadeMirage's clan in Windsinger's domain.
She arrived at the same time another came, also included in the Trade, and both were welcomed in, being shown around the clan & each given a place to stay. She took note of the Spiral that arrived at the same time as she, and though they came from different places themselves, had looked to the Spiral for a bond as he was discovering & learning all she was at the same time, and it helped to have a somewhat familiar face in the crowd as they went. Having this friendship & bond there helped in times of when she needed someone to rely on or a close companion to turn to and she came to value & treasure their relationship. Over time, she learned that the Spiral, at the time named Fang, had felt the same, and was happy to have her to rely on as well, and was happy at the bond they shared. With this, they journeyed through the clan together, facing each new milestone & accomplishment with optimism, and shared joy & small celebrations between the two.
As more of this went on, she and Fang felt a closeness with one another that went beyond their friendship and things deepened for each other. However, they only felt it was natural and thus decided to go further with their relationship which began a romance between the two. Happy with the way things were going, they felt it only made sense to then have a wedding & thus, the ceremony was held in the clan's gathering hall put on by the Gaurdian of Love, Gwenarria herself. Joyfully wedded & continuing on in their life together, Dianthus & Kregzix, the Spiral formerly known as Fang, enjoyed married life and lived contently.
Living together for a time after, they decided they were ready for parenthood and thus welcomed in some lovely children, two Spirals that took after their father, and raised them happily. They were named Evertull and FlameAngel, and both carried special meanings in their designations. FlameAngel was named for his bright, fire-y colors and his ability to glide gracefully like an angel and Evertull was given the designation for (reason). They bonded closely and flourished within the clan, but the same call that had struck their parents to see what may lie beyond the clan also found its way to the children, and when they matured enough, they too made their way to the Auction House. A clan from the Lightning realm took in FlameAngel where he worked happily manning the spires and working the conduits that trailed along the landscape of the Shifting Expanse, whereas Evertull wasn't so fortunate to find a clan for herself and thus turned her gaze skywards, wondering if she could fulfill her purpose elsewhere, and embarked on her journey to serve the Windsinger when she was Exalted. A time later, word reached the couple that their son had too gone to join the ranks of the Exalted when he too wondered if he could better serve the realm, and the presiding deity of the domain, in better ways. This made the Coatl and the Spiral overjoyed, however, knowing that when one becomes Exalted, it is the highest honor a dragon in the realm of Sornieth could receive, and the celebrated their children's accomplishments with a hearty feast, inviting all who would like to attend.
However, with her children away and her relationship stable, and more time on her hands now, Dianthus looked to see what she could do in the clan to help contribute as well. For when she was settling in, she tried her hand at many different Roles to see where she may best fit in the clan's understudy/shadowing program, though never felt many that was a good fit. As her relationship with the Spiral progressed as well, finding her Role took a back-burner while they pursued one another, and, eventually, married life & parenthood. With the opening up of things later on, though, Dianthus once again grew curious of what she could do, and thus, took up the program once more. When she went on a gathering expedition one day and joined dragons digging in the realm for useful trinkets, she found something that felt more natural to her than any of the other tasks & Roles she'd tried before, and enjoyed feeling the dirt beneath her claws as she sifted through the soil for items. Though not inspired to do this for the upturning of materials, she sought to see where else she may prove useful with this, and found that some of the clan gardeners were struggling to break ground once again for their yearly plots. The ground was proving to be extremely stubborn this time, and Dianthus asked if she could try something. The gardeners were reluctant at first, thinking that if their previous efforts weren't working, why would hers? but took the help as well, feeling they could also use any assistance anypony could offer. Happy to be of aid, Dianthus set to work, and at first, found the same trouble they had, but called upon her innate Earth abilities and coaxed the ground to break. The gardeners were amazed & couldn't believe their eyes as the very ground before them churned easily at the Coatl's command, and it became the most fertile soil they'd had to work with yet. At that, Dianthus earned her title as Soil-Tender, and every time it comes around for the gardeners to plant, they turn to her for help. Since then, the crops and blossoms that each plant produces have flourished and bloomed to quantities they never saw before, and now many hail her as the one responsible for their healthy harvests in the years since her arrival, saying all the credit goes to her. Outside of the others responsible for the harvest such as Cornucopia & AleniaLycoris who organize & orchestrate all that goes into the gardening, among others who work diligently each harvest season, of course.
Now Dianthus works happily in the clan, participating in other Earth-themed activities, especially around the time of November when Rockbreaker's Ceremony dawns on the realm, and strengthening her earthen abilities, feeling as though she is a representative of the Flight to a degree with her work in helping the soil. And, in turn, through this, helping the clan. Kregzix is joyful of her new-found Role as well, and supports her every step of the way. She looks to hopefully join a team and use her ever-growing powers for the benefit of the clan in defense as well, but for now, she works to keep the ground nutrient-rich & plentiful to help the clan spring forth many beloved blooms that she enjoys being around, some of which are her namesake.

As stated above, Dianthus is a clan Soil-Tender! This means that she uses her Earth abilities to render the earth of the clan in their growing plots available for planting, making the ground loose & rich enough to be perfect, fertile ground for the clan to enjoy :)
It is a lot of work, however, and now she teaches the other Earth dragons of the clan who may be interested in joining her to help, and the likes of AleniaLycoris & EarthBreath have taken this ability in under their wing among the many other skills they possess, but Dianthus still remains as the clan's first head Soil-Tender :)
