Biography

4txaK6v.png X I B A L B A 4txaK6v.png

Xibalba is known to be a fierce warrior and overprotective of those she cares about such as her mate, hatchlings and even the plague mother. But she wasn’t always this way. She comes from a Water flight clan located close to the Drown Sanctum where most go to seek advice from Tidelord. She grew up knowing both the water and plague deities were listening to her. Her birth parents were descended from necromancers but they favored the water deity over anything else. One day while she was visiting the sanctum with her parents to gain advice about her nestmates and her future the water deity answered for her nestmates while someone else answered for her. Plaguebringer called Xibalba and told her of the awaited future that was waiting for her to begin.

When she reached adulthood she began to travel around and seek out what the plague mother had foretold her. Eventually she reached a Sanctum where she heard the call similar to the call she heard when she was a hatchling, and she knew she was where she was meant to be. When she entered the Sanctum there were only a few dragons located inside; one that appeared as if the wind would carry them off approached her. She spoke to the elderly nocturne and explained she was here because of the call she had been hearing since she was just a hatchling. The nocturne listened to her story until she was finished and told the young imperial that she was indeed in the right place and that they had been expecting her. Xibalba for some reason felt a bit of relief that she was where she was meant to be.

Days passed rather quickly as she learned about the plague deity and the call she had heard. The call was the deity’s way of choosing a select few for the trials or the upcoming trials to prove themselves worthy of the mark. The mark is what she would receive during her initiation ceremony that was taking place in a few short hours. The time of her ceremony she felt a sort of connection one that she hadn’t felt before. The initiation began and almost as soon as it started she blacked out and later awoke with her new markings that proved that she was an official necromancer. She raised her head and peered around her at the dragons that showed up to support the initiation process. Dragons began to approach her and welcome her either with words of advice for the trials to come or special gifts.

After a few dragons had already given her little trinkets and advice, she felt a connection and not the usual one she felt to come to this Sanctum. Xibalba looked up and there happened to be the male imperial that a few of the dragons mentioned to steer clear of due to his lineage. But she didn’t feel any malice come off him at all like they said would when he makes his appearance. She looked up at him as he introduced himself as Feidhelm, a fellow necromancer and gifted her a Bloodstone. This mineral caught her eye with the crackling ember colors that ran through the black speckled stone. As all that showed up finished giving gifts or advice, they began to leave as the excitement of having a new member mellowed down as the sun was beginning to set.

Xibalba began to gather the few trinkets and the Bloodstone she was given in a small satchel she brought just for this day and started making her way towards the doors. She saw Feidhelm as he was making his way towards the exit and called out his name as she made her way over to him. He had stopped in his tracks and waited for her to catch up to see what she needed. When she reached his side she began to feel a click like feeling that she had never felt before, she lowered her head in respect before she spoke. “Would you be willing to help me train to prepare for my trials?” she spoke in a soft voice awaiting his response. “I’d love to help you train Xibalba” was heard in one ear and out the other as she heard him speak to her. She flushed a scarlet color and nodded her head in approval as if her voice would give away her stunned feeling. Xibalba felt him nudge her softly as a sign to move before they got locked inside and began asking about where they would meet up and when.

A few weeks passed after training with Feidhelm and she had just begun to hear what the other necromancers began to call them, “Woe Bringers”. This title didn’t bother her at all; she knew that over the time she left her previous clan and was initiated, she wasn’t the same imperial that was answering the call. She has grown into a rather fierce warrior but also a bit overprotective of her partner. Xibalba showed Feidhelm this on a few occasions where he was pinned down and couldn’t retaliate quick enough and she went a bit berserk. In the battle field they move almost as if they are one dragon and were meant to fight side by side. It was after one of these close encounters that both imperials realized their connection as soulmates or a bonded pair.

After being together for a bit she received a letter from Feidhelm’s grandfather Reginn. She had heard different stories about him but wasn’t going to take any of it to heart, her mate had assured her that he would cause her no harm. The visit showed an unexpected outcome, with Reginn congratulating the pair and offering them his blessing and also a spot within The Legion if they ever decided to join. The pair was given the skulls, grasp, and even the Plaguebringer standard that she treasures and attempts to bring with her everywhere to show her allegiance to Plaguebringer.

Xibalba and her mate haven’t been together for very long but to them it seems like a century has passed with how much they do together. She has grown very protective of both her mate and also thinking of the future generations they would nest. Perhaps she has fulfilled the call she heard from the plague mother or maybe she is still doing her wishes but on her own terms.
