Eros

Eros was born to a mother that was deemed the fastest in her clan and a father that had a brilliant way with words. What happens when a couple such as that comes together? Well, in the case of Eros, you get a hatchling with an intense interest in... battling..?

It had started as him trying to match his mother's speed, yet his dad's intelligence. How is one supposed to keep up both physically and mentally? He would practice day in and day out to be able to keep up with his mother, only to spend his evenings trying to work out how he would match his father's ability. He'd settled on trying to do what Gaheris would do--poetry--only for him to find that he... isn't good at it.

His great grandmother was Queen Guinevere of all dragons, so really, he should be focusing on being able to defend her, all the while trying to be worthy of her Court. Upon realising how.. inadequate he seemed to be with words, or with literature as a whole, he decided he would focus on his speed and skills in combat. His father may not be a fighter--nor his mother, for that matter--but he had decided he would try anyways. Training his speed would surely be easy in a clan such as this one.

One day, while zipping around nearer to the outskirts of the clan, he met an Imperial by the name of Argyle. Argyle, as he said, was the second-in-command of the warrior ranks of Gens Anima (a clan on the East coast of the Starwood Strand), just passing through to visit his parents all the way in the Shifting Expanse. Upon hearing that the Imp was a warrior, Eros had begged for lessons, for some way to at least learn the basics of combat.
Though Argyle had planned to visit his parents and return within a slim timeframe, he agreed. For three entire days, Argyle taught Eros the basics, only to leave and allow the hatchling to get some practice in. From that day onwards, Eros too every moment to practice alongside his speed training. Some days he would train his speed alone, other days he would continue to practice his combat skills, eager to show Argyle if he ever appeared again.

He'd never been the utmost fondest of his great grandmother, but she was family. He was at least proud to be related to her. He wanted to protect her like he wanted to protect the rest of his family! It may be one of his only options, but it was something that he was happy to do. Eros didn't know what his parents would think of this decision, but he knew it was his choice and not theirs, right? If he was happy with his choice, why should he care what others think? He was going to be the fastest member of the Court and no-one was going to tell him otherwise!
