It was a particularly normal night when Solstice was born prematurely. Despite almost certainty that she’d not survive, she amazed and grew to be physically healthy.

However, since her plumage fully came through, she has been oddly quiet. She can speak, just uses it rarely. Despite encouragement, she has not been expressive through her voice. But her parents and others seem to be able to read her expressions, so it should not be an issue overall.

Unfortunately however, the reason for this letter, is that Solstice has shown a tendency for undesired traits. Not limited to her ban from the hatchery. She shows little care for the distress she causes on others while doing this. When asked, she seems to believe her curiosity is justification. That unfortunately seems to be a common theme in her misdeeds.

I hope to see her grow out of this phase, but i fear the look in her eyes. Me and her parents are in agreeance that she may well be shade touched.

While there is no sure-fire evidence, we can’t wait. Adults who were shade touched as children, even if cured, are likely to face many mental problems. Solstice is soon reaching the age of no return, and we cannot risk her becoming semi-permanent.

Skydancer was seen leaving the border at the east edge ruins at midnight. Attempted to casually halt her, but had to resort to chasing. I lost her in the desert, and since then Solstice, daughter of North and Meyer, has been missing. I have no doubt Solstice was the skydancer i saw.

Blaze recommends we bring her back home as soon as possible, as she is very possibly shade touched and must be found before it is too late. Even if she doesn’t want to be cured.

Solstice’s unannounced departure is very concerning. After all her actions, it’s clear she has little empathy to spare. But its best not held against her, as she is very likely shade touched.

Solstice is, despite all the trouble, one of Oasis clan, and is likely a danger to others or herself. Immediate search parties must be sent out, otherwise she could be forever cursed. She could be dangerous in an enemy’s hands, as she knows things they yet don’t, and will likely be easy to bargain with for information.
