A loud explosion, the ground breaking beneath her talons as fire and smoke burst through the cracks.
It changed abruptly, without warning.
Thought shoving her out a window, stumbling and coughing as the entire burning prison threatened to collapse on top of her brother.
Her feathers were singed, her throat burning from the smoke, but she looked a lot better than Thought, whose face and entire left side looked as though a Fire dragon had hit him with a massive fireball. The scales were melted, and the skin beneath was horribly burned, blistering and charred in several places.
"It was all lies, then..." She murmured. "And to think I had started to feel good about myself for once."
