He idly watches the feast in his honour- as one of the most-loved spirits of the land, he lives and breathes in luxury. He remembers the smiling faces, the warm sun. He remembers coaxing every flame from its embers, every day, until-

Until he remembers it has been years, years of forget since then. Years of wandering as a cursed beast in the slowly-decaying halls he was once revered in. Oh gods, what has he become-

The beast thrashes its head wildly against the walls of the rotting hall, splintering wood and warping metal. Everywhere it looks, it sees only remnants- tattered banners, long-spoiled food. A temple in disarray for years. Decades, centuries. He does not remember- it does not know. No! N̶̨̰̩͚̘̕Ǫ̵̻̲̖̅͜!̷̢̗̯͕́̐̇̈́̓͜ͅ
