  about Diadem & Daemon.

I refer to Diademodon using they/them pronouns when speaking about both heads at once, and he/him when referring their heads separately

Diademodon has small diamond-shaped scales along their body and larger scales protecting their face, paws, tails, and the leading edge of their wings, similar to small varanids and lacertids. They have long and soft arrow-shaped feathers covering their neck, chest, and parts of their back and belly. They have very little in terms of down or plumes save for some thin fuzz over the scales of their body that resembles the face fuzz of a griffon vulture. They have fully grown bone-white horns even though they are still very young.

Diadem is the larger, more outspoken, and stubborn of the two heads although they are both fairly standoffish and feisty. His mother named him Diadem after his curling round horns. He is more confrontational than Daemon, though more likely to freeze in stressful situations. During a fight, he is more likely to take the role of the physical fighter and is mostly adapted to fast close combat.

Daemon is the quieter and more thoughtful head, though that doesn't mean he isn't occasionally snarky or willing to fight. During fights, Daemon is the tactician, his third eye lending an advantage on the battlefield. He keeps the body out of harm's way and helps Diadem locate and chase down the most dangerous foes; even occasionally snapping at enemies that get too close when Diadem is distracted. Neither head is very apt at magic use, though Daemon is the more likely out of the two to use breath attacks and other magic.

  origins.

My child, you were never meant for the cold. Though born in a spring-warmed den lined with tiny orange flowers and dry soft mosses; you had no thick coat of fur, save for soft feathers on your neck and chest. You instead possessed small scales, a thick and rough hide. My little fighter, you would do well in this world anywhere but here in the harsh chill, where the wind pierces skin as if it were parchment, and save for the densest coat; feathers offer no shield. I am so sorry. I tried everything in my power to keep you warm, but none of the thick cloth, spells, or protection that I can offer has stopped you from shivering; and the days only continue to grow shorter.

I have left you in the company of a close friend of mine. She hails from the mainland and lives at the junction of water, lightning, and light territory, where the heat and sun are ever-present and you should feel at home. I am sorry my dear, but I will not be able to join you. I am too sick, and I would likely not make a journey by boat or by the wind. I hope that you find family there. I hope that you find adventure there. I hope that you meet many friends and live a long happy life. I hope that one day you can forgive me. Goheno nin.
