You can barely see him in the light. A faint, unnerving purple glow, maybe. The feel of heavy, cold breath on your wingtips.

Whatever it may be, don't wait to find out. Especially not near dark. Make sure you're never around in the dark. You can see him in the dark. Those that have are never the same. Stay in the light.

Shade lives in reluctant servitude to Lichwood, his creator. Shade was spawned from Lichwood's first action as a lich, which was to puke up his guts, literally. As Lichwood awoke in his new form, his body rejected what was left of it, and the retched up remains of Lichwood's dead and worthless corpse took on a life of their own.

The oozing, inky slime that used to be Lichwood's piping began to grow, feed, and take on shape. And so, Shade was born, tied to Lichwood by magic alone. Shade has since grown to appreciate the small, close-knit community Clan Ameliorate offers, and would rather not jeopardize that. But even he is unsure of the capacity for Lichwood to control him by force.
