Born in the Worldedge Wetlands, Skathi is a very reclusive dragon by nature. There, dragons lived at the edges of the known continent of Sorneith to either find peace, or because nowhere else would accept them. In her clan, mysticism was the normal. Everyone usually held some sort of different belief.. Sometimes it was spirits, sometimes it was living undead, and sometimes it was even something that didn't exist, like "Primordials" or other such theoretical deities that did not exist. Things were peaceful, but at the cost of being a nobody on the edge of the known world. Skathi felt a desire to be apart of something big. Sitting under a tree in constantly bickering town, having to argue her beliefs nearly every week with missionaries of other religions wasn't something she wished for herself. It was around her adulthood that she left for better, brighter coasts. The Starfall Isles seemed like the first perfect place to look. If any flight would have information about which beliefs were real, or which were false, Arcane would be among those most keen into looking at the unknown of the universe and documenting it. Moonhollow was only meant to be one of the many short stops in her journey, however.. She had accidentally caught a glance of a feathered spiral with dozens of wings. She had been interested in him at first sight. She couldn't tell why; It was like she had been drawn to him the entire time. The small spiral, named Umbriel, was unbelievably dorky and nervous when they had first met. It was only natural that they both began to discuss ancient tomes and various ancient pre-modern religions and beliefs like they were discussing different types of foods. They both hit it off and the two fell in love shortly after. She easily adopted the beliefs of her new in-laws and is quite happy to be living a luxurious lifestyle with her dorky husband. He isn't around all the time.. But she knows that one day in the distant future, she and him will have all the time they could ever want together, in a world that could be reshaped in an instant by his very claws. Hatchlings born from Skathi and Umbriel have a chance to inherit a great connection to magic and the unknown. While Umbriel is never as around as much as he wishes he was, Skathi is a loving and devoted mother that more than makes up for Umbriel's shortcomings. Strong ideals concerning the Otherworldly Being's steadily growing power are common belief among hatchlings of this pair. This Being shall save them all from the callous hands of the Deities, or so has been endlessly preached to them by Skathi and Umbriel. |
