Biography
Gale
"You shouldn't be out past curfew. You know the rules; now follow them."
Gale | Protector | Teacher | Authority
Summary
As the primary commander of the fodder hatchlings when they are not in training, Gale is strict and unforgiving. His Charge is caring for the fodder dragons who aren't fully trained, although he's grumbled quite frequently about how he wished it wasn't his job. When he first learned of what he was to do, he most certainly wasn't thrilled about the thought of being around hatchlings and young, boisterous soldiers. Almost right away, Gale set up a daily plan for the camp. Every day, they have three meals, practice time with Gale, and training time when the three main warriors take the kids to the Coliseum. He's always busy supervising hatchlings and teaching cadets, barely getting downtime throughout the day. |
Personality
Although Gale is a Fire dragon and is often energetic, he has a cold stare that will chill you to the bones. He is firm in his regimens and will not 'go easy' on any soldier who disobeyed the Fodder Camp's common law. This law was designed by Gale and the clan's leaders. He defends the camp and teaches the hatchlings basic battle forms and strategies before War, Chaos, and Myst, the clan's warriors, take them in for training. To everyone's surprise, Gale has a soft side and has revealed discretely that he does care for the soldiers-in-training. It seems as though under his cold demeanor is a warm, caring dragon, but he rarely lets it shine through. |
Story
The small scuffle of a talon against the dirt ground in a tent near Gale woke the great Guardian. He opened his eyes, the pupils of which were narrowed to slits. Nearby, a torch's light flickered. All went quiet. The shadows of two young Gaolers flashed across a canvas tent in the torchlight and he saw two dark forms slink quickly away. Shifting silently, Gale skirted around the light, remaining out of view in the darkness. The cadets were headed towards the eastern forest; he'd catch them there. Gale snuck up behind the unsuspecting hatchlings, resting his paw on one ones' shoulder. She jumped, yelping like a scared cockatoo as she spun around to face Gale. "You shouldn't be out past curfew. You know the rules; now follow them," the Guardian growled. He'd caught this insubordinate ball of fur trying to sneak out previously. "Sorry, sorry, sir. We'll go back to our cabin," the other Gaoler stuttered, her eyes wide. The pair began to walk back towards camp. "Wait," Gale growled, meeting their frightened gazes with his icy stare. "Tell me where you were going, first," his terrifyingly quiet yet deep voice rumbled. The first dragon glanced fearfully at the second as if looking for a good response. A good lie. The other never looked back at her, instead replying, "We wanted to hunt." "Hunt?" "The rations are down so low lately. We figured the hunters could use some help." "Hunting at night isn't wise. You should have gone to them." "We did. They didn't want help." "Then you should have taken 'no' as an answer, cadet. Back to your posts," Gale hissed dangerously. "Yes, sir." The two dipped their heads and padded quickly towards the camp. The Guardian remained glaring after them, thinking, Cadets. Always looking for trouble, getting out of their messes with lies. They'll see their fault eventually. Gale sighed. I just wish it'd be sooner. |
