Lapis

The Iridescent Inn reads the banner above what otherwise looks like a cave with several other caves branching off into small holes. It is furnished: each hole has a carpet, some of them have some kind of mattress or pillow, and each have luxurious thick curtains you can pull down for privacy. The halls are lined with glass bulbs filled with fireflies...or maybe sprites, you can't tell because the glass is all fogged up.
"Lapis!" Rudiger calls, so loud out of nowhere that it makes you jump. "Visitor!"
Another Ridgeback with a much less sharp point to her nose comes around the corner. She's blue, decked in many blue scarves with a little cobalt bulb bobbing from her head.
"Alright, who do we-oh! Hello!" You catch the way her eyes flick to your flank, seeing the sigil there, and then smile back at you. "The new initiate room is this way." She turns and struts into the cave, and you follow after, Rudiger vanishing without another sound.
"So where you from, sugar? Oh, that's a nice place. Haven't been there in a while though, is that one little odd shop still-right, the one with the weird bugs, you do know it! Love those weird bugs. If I wasn't so settled here I'd be out there, looking for weird bugs. But no, Rudiger had to go and join your cult, so I had to join the cult, and now we get to go wherever the Pyro family goes, which, incidentally, is not back there. Have you met her yet, by the way? No? You're gonna love her, she's fantastic. Don't mention the cult around her though. She's a real bleeding heart, she is. Sorry I keep calling it a cult, I know you guys don't like that. Order, that's the word Runic says is better. Your order. You should meet Pyro tomorrow! Hey, what was your name again? Oh, you never said it? Well say it! Nice name, I like that. Flows off the tongue."
Your head is spinning from just listening to her talk like she's a spiral, and you suddenly realize why Rudiger is so quiet.
"Anyway, sugar, this here is the guest quarters. You can stay here for free for a week, but after that, it's three gems a night. Personally, I'm a big fan of lapis, but any gem is fine, except for fluorite! It's six fluorite to stay here, oh or calcite, six of them too. Those are way too common. My daughters like them, though, so they went out to collect some. A couple of them are still around here, but most of my girls are out exploring the world. I just got a letter from my dear Peridot a while back, and she sent me this beautiful shard of kunzite, simply divine! These gems," she said with a gesture at her jewelry, "are all gifts from my little miners. Say, if you're not sent off on a mission for that cult, sorry, order, you could work with my girls! How's about it? Do you like gems? Who am I kidding, of course you do."
