Biography

Was that... Yelling? ThistleDawn crept closer to the edge of the Wyrm Wound, and peered over the edge. Like most of their kind, their heads usually got along. Usually. They blinked in surprise at what they saw. Another Aberration was crouched on the shore of the soup, tails lashing and his two heads arguing. Thistle narrowed her eyes as she took in each detail.

There was a puddle beneath him of the same substance as the bubbling soup behind him, so he must have just emerged from it. Electric blue veins ran all over his body, slightly raised and framing his eyes. His dark... beautiful... Thistle shook her head to rid her mind of the thoughts, disrupting Dawn's thoughts as well.

"But he's so pretty, Thistle..." Dawn murmured softly, and Thistle nipped her behind her curled horns. "Remember what happened last time you went nuts over a guy?" She hissed, and Dawn sighed softly. She still had yet to get over Talon, an Imperial BoneGuard. He hadn't been interested in a two headed mate, and had been transferred to a different area soon after for reasons still unknown to she and Thistle. Honestly, Thistle had never liked him. Dawn opened her mouth to apologize, but her words were cut off as the male down below began shouting again. ThistleDawn glanced back down again.

"I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR BLASTED EFFORTS AND YOUR STUPID, NONEXISTENT LOVE LIFE! NOW SHUT UP SO WE CAN GET OUT OF THIS PLACE!" his left head snarled, and the right head cowered, closing his eyes and bracing himself as if expecting a blow. "I... I'm sorry..." the right head whimpered, and Thistle gritted her teeth. She couldn't help wondering what exactly that male's right head was thinking, letting himself get pushed around like that.
"Such a weakling..." the left head growled. He tried to move their body, then seemed to realize that nothing was happening.

"Odd..." Thistle whispered thoughtfully, and Dawn glanced up at her. "What is it?"
"The right head seems to have full control of his body. Lefty just seems to have control over himself from the neck up."
"Yeah... and he does seem a bit unpleasant." Dawn agreed, then she scooted them a little closer so she could see better.

"Get a move on, Soot." the left head growled, and the right one, Soot, shook his head. "I can't... can't fly.." he mumbled. "My wings can't hold me..."
"You can fly now, idiot. The change clearly moved the deformity from your wings to your brain!"

"By the Mother Herself!" Thistle found herself shouting and, surprised, Dawn let her take full control of their body. She leapt over the side and landed in front of the dragon, their wings spread wide. The blue eyespots on her wings caught the faint glow coming from the Wyrm Wound and seemed to shine softly with their own light. Both Soot and his other head froze, staring up at the eyespots.
"You two need to quit it. Lefty, you're the passenger. Clearly. Quit bullying your partner." Thistle growled, her head raised high as she stared down at them. Dawn nodded. "I've seen others going about with one head missing." She said softly, staring up at the one Thistle had called Lefty. "The missing head was always the passenger. I'll.. I'll help him bite you off if you keep being rude."

Lefty glared at the newcomer and then at Soot, but finally relented. "Fine." He hissed, slitting his eyes. "But he had better quit mewling about his past life. It's over now."
"Thanks.." Soot mumbled, and Thistle nodded. "No problem. But seriously, even dragons of the Plague flight still get sick. Let's get further away from this soup." She turned away from Soot and Lefty, then flew up to the rim to wait.

"Did you really lie to them?" Thistle muttered to Dawn, who nodded sheepishly. "It's worked before."
"Fair enough." Thistle agreed. There was a whoosh behind them and when they turned around Dawn laughed out loud. Thistle smiled. Soot was flying high, his grey and blue wings flapping strongly. Lefty was still glaring, but Soot's face was open and full of joy. Thistle had to admit, while Lefty was unpleasant, Soot was quite sweet. She didn't notice as Dawn glanced up at her.
"Oooooh... Someone's smiling!" Dawn teased with a grin. Usually reserved, Thistle rarely smiled. There was something special about this new Aberration, and Dawn was quite certain she knew why.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Three years later~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Um, ThistleDawn?" Soot's voice came from the other end of the cavern. Thistle sighed and Dawn nipped her behind the horns. They spread their wings and flew over to where Soot and Lefty had once again gotten tangled up in the tapestries and hangings gifted to Dawn by a couple different other clans. "A little help?" Lefty growled, and Dawn stuck her tongue out at him while Thistle sat back on her haunches and pulled Soot's horns out of the hole they had gotten caught in.
"You two are so clumsy." she said dryly, but Soot just grinned at her. Lefty sighed and glanced over at Dawn. "I'm stuck next to an idiot." He muttered.
"You're an idiot too." Dawn replied, though there was no venom in her voice. She had grown quite fond of the pessimistic head, and though she couldn't quite tell, Thistle claimed that Lefty liked her in return.
"He's nicer to you than me," Thistle had said one night when the two of them had been talking about the male they had met three years prior. "Not by much, to be sure, but definitely nicer."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"Thanks ladies," Soot said as Thistle pulled a scarf-like wall hanging from off of Lefty's neck and put it back up on the den wall. Thistle mumbled a reply, then returned the smile.
