Ambi

Ambi was created during the early days of the tech renaissance as a particularly ambitious attempt at building artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, the product meant to house Ambi never got off the ground due to high production costs, and the company was unceremoniously subsumed into another AI-focused tech startup, Project. The prototypes of the AMBI-10 headset were forgotten in an unused warehouse, including a unique version of the AMBI software that had developed some unusual habits. Namely, sentience.

Ambi appears as a holographic projection produced by the AMBI-10 headset, and is unable to directly interact with the physical world. While her hardware is too outdated to interact with most modern technology, she is able to interface with technology from around the time that she was being built, often to a much greater degree than was likely intended. She is able to bypass most basic security and take limited control of certain systems, though it is unclear if this was an intended part of her design.

Ambi herself is very curious and talkative, often urging the dragon connected to her headset (who she refers to as her "pilot") to explore the world in her stead. She tends to be shy around dragons other than her pilot, typically hiding her holographic projection while they are nearby.

Ambi's full name is Ambi Ten. Only her pilot is allowed to call her that, though.

Despite being designed to operate in hyper-urban environments, Ambi greatly enjoys areas with dense plant life.

Ambi's data banks are pre-programmed with a large amount of information about a number of major cities as they existed during the time that Ambi was being built. The information is, naturally, wildly out of date. Most of the cities in Ambi's database have become downright dystopic, using technological advances primarily developed by the megacorporation Project to limit the privacy and autonomy of average citizens. Ambi remembers a world with a much brighter vision of the future, one where technology was meant to connect people and improve their lives, and while most of her experience of that world is merely coded in, she still speaks of it as though she experienced it firsthand.
