A tracker by trade, Genesis prides herself on being able to find anything that another dragon might be looking for. Hunting down lost trinkets, runaway familiars, and wandering hatchlings, she makes a name for herself over time.

But when she meets Fjord, she gets an opportunity to take her business to a new level. Innocent requests give way to more suspect searches, but to Genesis, this doesn't matter. She enjoys the challenge, the thrill of the chase. Catching her quarry isn't part of her job: she simply has to locate them without being seen, and then contact Fjord.

When Fjord accepts a job catching runaway subjects for a dragon's laboratory, she's concerned at first that the work won't be as rewarding as usual. But when she realizes that one of her quarries is the famous thief Vidalia, she's sold.
