"Oh, poor soul.” A voice sighs from the lanternlight’s flickering shadows. “You’ve been through so much today, haven’t you?” It’s calming, gentle, lilting like music, and for a moment you wonder if you may have fallen into the den of an angel. “Fear not, lost soul,” it continues, and the lilting melody - and there is, indeed, a melody - grows stronger like the rushing of the wind, until it’s filling your ears like a storm, “I shall guide you to your resting place.”

Nirah is a timeless god, flitting between bodies of those they choose as hosts as they see fit. This particular host is a favorite of theirs, its life extended long past its proper expiration date… fitting, is it not, to have what should be a corpse guide the dead? Because of this odd, timeless nature, Nirah tends to be quite sorrowful and ghostly, in an eternal state of mourning for the thousands and thousands of souls they’ve tended. They drift during conversation and rarely take the affairs of short-lived mortals seriously.

In addition to acting as a ferryman of souls, Nirah also serves the gods as a messenger, taking their words and passing them along to the faithful or bringing messages between the gods themselves. They usually wander wherever their work takes them, whether it be the guiding of souls or passing of messages, but this particular avatar for Nirah took up residence in the clan after Rosarin’s soul-manipulating magic started meddling with their charges, and the two fight often about the morality of her work.
