Tethys

Tethys was born in a lesser lair on the Tsunami Flats to Blackwell the Water Spiral and Charene the Ice Obelisk. Her home clan, led by a Snapper whom everybody calls "CrawDaddy", was a little bit fishy, and not just due to the location. "CrawDaddy" or Crawford seemed to only be interested in amassing a collection of the most beautiful and unique dragons from all across Sornieth, and he even used "bait" -- scouts he would send out to search for any beautiful and clanless dragons looking for a home. Tethys wasn't at all comfortable with this living situation or the whispers of shadier dealings by the wily Ice Snapper, and so she chose to leave the Tsunami Flats. She had heard, through word of mouth, of another clan that had recently changed locations, moving from the Flats to the Starwood Strand, and so she decided to seek them out. She found Riptide's clan easily enough, and, much to her surprise and delight, an old friend! Valentia the Ridgeback had spent some time with Crawford's clan along with her sister, Katarina (who in fact, still remained) and was thrilled to see a familiar face! Valentia and her parents had as many questions for Tethys as the Tidelord's domain has currents, all about Katarina and their cousin Ara, who had also found her way to Crawford's clan (Ara is the daughter of Riptide's sister, Delmare). Tethys answered them all to the best of her ability.

Riptide warmly welcomed a friend of her daughters', promising she would do whatever necessary to make Tethys feel right at home. Tethys then surprised the matriarch by asking where she might find a dealer of breed change scrolls. She had been hatched an Obelisk, like her mother, but she wanted to reinvent herself, find the real her.

Valentia promised to take her the very next day, and Tethys purchased a Pearlcatcher scroll with the little savings she had, using it almost immediately. Over time, she also bought an eye vial and new gene scrolls, until the finished product looked so different from the original that Katarina probably wouldn't even recognize her anymore, should she come for a visit.

Tethys was happy however, for now she felt free of everything that would tie her to her home clan, apart from her elemental magic. She felt as if she had cleansed away the impurities, and was ready to start fresh. She opened up a small scrying workshop, using her abilities as an oracle to offer services such as fortune tellings, energy healing, dream interpretation, and even matchmaking.
