"Speck", as he's known to his friends, is the light and soul of the party. Entertaining is his passion, be it mixing up new combinations of fruit punches, or setting off fireworks over the bay, Speck always has something new, bright, and fun to share.

Growing up in Flotsam Town, he's learned the importance of giving people something to smile about. And it can be hard to stay positive, floating on an island of junk, refugees scrounging to put life back to "normal"... Though he's never seen it, Speck dreams of a true sea, water wide and wild and teeming with colorful life... Sometimes, he and his buddies skim over to the coast of the Zephyr Steppes to go cliff diving; from on high he can almost picture what the Sea of a Thousand Currents looked like before the maelstrom struck...

It was on one such daring outing that Speck finally made the decision: He wasn't going home until he learned a way to call back the Tidelord, and restore the Water flight to its former grandeur. Naive and optimistic, imagination filled with dreams of sea witches and magic bargains, Speck ran away from home with only a shrug and a smile. The note he left behind, explaining things to his family, ended with the galavant line: "How hard could it be?"

But Speck's friends weren't about to let him prance off on an adventure without them! Vin and Wiley tagged along, too. "The more the merrier!"
