Goldleaf was found as an abandoned egg in the Galico Glades, with a trail of sunlight seemingly leading the birdfolk to his location. But when he first broke out of his shell, a long, fresh cut crawled over his right eye, blood delicately trickling out of it. And while the villagers ignored it and gave Goldleaf a blissfully happy life, the Imperial was burdened by one thing; his reflection, or lack thereof. For whenever he looked into any reflective surface, whether it be off of the glinting armor of a hunter or a shallow, muddy puddle, it was not Goldleaf that looked back at him, but a Wildclaw instead that shared the exact same scar over her right eye, screaming and howling at him about finding tablets and being the Emperor. Goldleaf both growing up in a village who's culture denounces old gods and struggling with his own identity issues as an orphan, completely ignored the weird screaming dragon for his, at the time, blossoming career as a hunter. It's only until Goldleaf, in a dream, meets the very Wildclaw that lives in his reflection, Illdari, first reincarnation of the Emperor themselves, first lord and creator of all. Illdari, calmly this time, explains that she's trapped in Goldleaf's reflection after fleeing from a particularly nasty encounter with an army of Ancients; as Goldleaf, the Seeker, is now the second reincarnation of the Emperor, he is now tasked with finding all the Sanctum Tablets Illdari, the Keeper, hid over the regions. Hesitant to really start his journey and in complete denial of his true identity, it is only when Illdari mentions that the title and responsibilities of Emperor will pass back to her when he retrieves the Tablets that separates her from him where he becomes interested.
