Taijiwuji and Taijitu had always been polar opposites.
The clan knew Taijitu to be indecisive and quarrelsome. Their personalities seemed to clash far too much for a dragon with two heads. Taijiwuji, on the other hand, were one with each other. When they spoke, they did so as one. They moved in harmony, their calm nature seeping into the air around them and creating an aura of peace. Your observations did not betray these facts. Through watching them work, you were able to appreciate just how in-sync they were, and the difference was night-and-day from what you had seen with Taijitu. Taijiwuji easily conducted intense experiments without a hint of worry on their faces. One wrong move, and their alchemy could easily bring the whole cavern crashing down upon the clan. Yet, they moved through the motions as if putting together a harmless puzzle. Their teamwork was impeccable and their work flawless, as if their movements had been choreographed and rehearsed step by step. "Wuji, what were the pH readings?" "Originally 5.4. It increased to 6.7. Shall I add more calcium hydroxide?" "Hm…" Taiji brought a thoughtful hand to their chin. "Light the burner." The two worked in tandem, and they predicted each other's thoughts so well that they barely uttered a word to each other for the rest of the experiment. Taijitu could learn a thing or two from them. |
