Biography
Gen 2
Melusine > Tiamat > Ebisu
They were impossible. They shouldn't exist. And yet, he and his sister remarkably were real. While few had believed in the legendary tales of the daughters of the sea, even fewer still had believed they still may exist.
It had been years since a sighting. Or even a tale of a sighting, faked or no. But from a parched, landlocked portion of Dragonhome, two new daughters were hatched. Or rather, a daughter, and a son. Their blue-eyed mother smiled down at the little miracles. She was the last. Her sisters and even mother were long gone. And she had remained. Lonely, quietly. The oceans had long fallen silent.
She told her children of her journey. Of how strangely, a place that should be against her nature called her. Perhaps it was her soulmate. Perhaps it was a long-forgotten water prophecy.
Ebisu had a different theory. It took much searching to realize it, but with the right eye, you could see it, feel it. There were fossils here, like much of Dragonhome. Specifically, of fish. Tiny schools. Massive monsters. Strange aquatic creatures they had never seen. And the stone- it was sedimentary in this area. It had been born of water. Like them. This was the site of an ancient sea, an area that had once been governed by the Tidelord back when the deities had fought each other personally, and the land had constantly been changing sides.
Ebisu wagered that this old, latent energy had drawn his mother from the depths. And like his sister and he, it denoted change. Like this land, he and his sister were stone that was born from the waters. A paradox of ancient custom and the denotation that time changes all.
Further still, Ebisu had a feeling. A feeling that while his heritage was waning, a new tide was turning. He normally would be barren, unable to be a part of his family's lineage. He was a male, not to mention his earth-born eyes.
But it still felt right. Like this dry sea, he felt the power of the waters thrumming through him. They were not his- he was as dry as the fossilized fish- but one day, just maybe, this place could become a sea again. Until that point, well, there were plenty of places to see. After all, water touches all places in one form or another.
And so, he felt the draw to the rushing chanels and burbling brooks of the Wind territory. And it was here that he fathered new hatchlings, just as devoid of water magic as he, but still just as connected to the ebb and flow of the latent magic of their bloodline. He smiled as he watched them splash and chase ripples. Yes. This was change, but it was a good one.
