From a relatively early age, his mother, Saya, has been keen to impress upon Pruni the importance of working for the good of the clan. Taking him on noon gathering trips, out on shopping trips and generally trying to convey the variety of activities which are open to an interested and able dragon.

Although he and Diana have been introduced, interactions between grand-parent and grand-child have been minimal. Diana opted to take a hands-off approach with regard to her own daughter's parenting, preferring to trust her child complete independence. Pruni perceived a lack of common interests, and found Diana's company uninteresting.

However, when the Pearlcatcher began to decide what to do with his time, the Pearlcatcher decided to enroll in a remote institution, rather than complete his education within the clan. The apparent destination was reportedly safe and in good-repute, so the decision was unopposed.

As Pruni developed into adolescence, the scarcity of letters home was unsurprising to those familiar with the temperaments of that age.

It is apparent that during that time away from the lair the Pearlcatcher discovered his strengths. Pruni was able to devote himself to the art of cloth for great lengths of time.
Fascinated by this new craftsman, the bright and persistent Lennuh managed win the clothier's friendship; together the two have contributed marvellously to lair-beautification.

It has been noticed that Pruni may lack tact when it comes to commenting upon breed-element distinctions between dragons of Sornieth. He has earned a reputation for letting his mouth run without thinking. Some are inclined to the belief that his chosen schooling is at fault.

Pruni is a dab claw with fabrics and the clothier has been trying to persuade Perception to brew dyes. The Pearlcatcher is known to purchase craft-ready fabrics from Coraeal of the Cirocco clan.
To contribute to clan-trading (as well as ensure the clan an independent supply), Pruni makes quills from the bits and pieces picked up by the gatherers.
