While enjoying the welcome feast, you awkwardly make new friends and take in the scenery of this school inside a behemoth-sized tree. Eventually, the time comes for the sorting ceremony. Each first year student will take a turn at the front of the room, placing the Flower Crown of Classification on their head and seeing which house they'll spend their years in. It seems like forever before they call your name. You step forward and wonder if you'll get the green and gold of House Plantae. Or perhaps the flowers will become black and white to match the colors of House Animalia. You sit down on the stool and contemplate how you feel about Fungi's quicksilver and turquoise. You think about the eccentric reds, blues, and yellows of House Monera as the professor places the flower crown upon your head... They allow their environments to shape their behaviors and are known to be ‘jack of all trades’ types. Animalia dragons will usually have three or four hobbies and scores of friends and acquaintances. If you see a single dragon who’s maintaining a constantly updating guide, managing a Dominance service, organizing newbie events and running a small business for on the side, you’ve probably met an Animalia House Alumni. Adorn in Black and White (practical colors that go with everything and everyone) Animalia dragons are found among the heads of state, generals of armies and presidents of organizations. While typically known for their compassion and work ethic, they've been known to make enemies of jealous dragons who simply Can Not Keep Up with the Animalia Spirit that leaves less capable and determined dragons in the dust. Natural multi-taskers they become fixtures of their flights and inspire great loyalty among their friends. However don’t misunderstand--these dragons aren’t pushovers. It’s often said three Animalia Dragons are more likely to win Flight Dominance than a flight made up of Plantae, Fungi and Monera dragons. Truth to tell Animalia has produced some of the greatest and most exalted warriors and are known for their almost instantaneous organizing and communication. In fact all three Courier dragons are Animalia Alumni.

Plantae dragons are resilient, opportunistic, and endlessly adaptable. They value cleverness over intelligence, and are usually found running contests and pursuing Flight Dominance to show off their skill. Epitomizing the phrase ‘working smarter not harder’ Plantae dragons often become successful very early in life, usually while earning the envy and resentment of their peers. Adorned in the colors Green (for abundance and growth) and Gold (the color of first place prizes and treasure) Plantae dragons make excellent explorers, pioneers and self starters. These dragons can be found brainstorming the most efficient coliseum builds, the fastest familiar bonding methods, and calculating the fastest way to max out their Baldwin experience. Some of the most successful skin shops, art shops and auction house profiteers have graduated from this lofty house. Almost unsettling in their ambition they often become integral in communities with very little effort. They feel most comfortable in a position where they don’t have to depend on others and insist on having a complete control of a situation. They strive towards having a completely monopoly in their industry. While their ruthlessness, ambition and controlling tendencies might make these dragons hard to get along with, it should be noted that their habit of learning everyone’s strengths and weaknesses makes them excellent gift givers and powerful allies Noted Plantae alumni include merchants Swipp and Joxar.

Not much is known about the Fungi House--and they like it that way. Not much can be gained through their veil of mystique however it seems Fungi dragons are creative, charismatic and inventive, in fact, Fungi House has produced more musicians, artists, and entertainers than the other three houses combined. While the other houses often enjoy the fruits of Fungi labor, it should be warned that Fungi Dragons are natural pranksters, and will trick even their most devoted fans. Trust no 'leaked' album release date, retirement announcement or literally anything declared on April Fools from a Fungi Artist, or you'll find yourself with egg on your face. Often found in adorn in their house colors Quicksilver (for the mercurial and ever changing nature of life) and Turquoise (for absolutely no reason, and if they tell you they have a reason this is most certainly a lie) Fungi dragons are often the life of the party, and dragons who aren't called into the life of art will often find themselves in the fields related to public relations. Living by the sentiment that anything can be turned into an art, you'll find Fungi dragons among museum directors, advertisement executives and promoters. Despite their somewhat sinister nature, they also loves parties and events. Around Sorienth you can find them hosting Holiday Celebration Hubs, organizing secret santas, and gift giving threads. Fungi House is fond of saying “Where’s there is dark and damp--we’ll turn up” and they often do, trailing raffles and games in their wake. While they seem to focus more on their own creative endeavors and personal success to get up to much evil, it should be noted that they’ve managed to prank houses so badly that it resulted in exams being cancelled. Both Crim and Pinkerton are Fungi House Alumni.

Scholars, collectors and philosophers find homes in Monera House. The only house to have three colors instead of two, they are often herald as misunderstood geniuses. While it’s hard to tell which members are inscrutable because of their superior intellect and which ones are just willfully eccentric, these dragons clad in Red, Blue, and Yellow (every color is just a variation of the combination of Red, Blue and Yellow, so it's the most logical choice obviously, why would you choose any others? It's just plain bad science) are integral to Sornieth. They produce the most sought after historians and anthropologists, and the most feared scientists and conspiracy theorists. If you've met a dragon who knows the entire lore of their clan, their neighboring clan, and more than a little on their deity, you've most likely met a Monera Alum. A trip to their lore shops, retrospective threads, and conspiracy theories are always worth a visit. Conversely, if you've met a dragon sketching out possible new mutations in Sornieth, new beastclans yet to be discovered, or possible aberrations in reality they call 'bugs' you've probably met a Monera Scientist. More dependable, if no less eccentric, Monera Scientists make excellent chemists and biologists. Find these dragons renting out their superior Baldwin cauldrons, prophesying new breeds and genes, and designing new familiars that are moments from being created, they swear. It is said that huge genetic events, like the surge of new colors appearing randomly, or the rise of the Nocturne dragons were predicted by Monera scientists ages before they happened. Natural introverts, they rarely rise to prominence in their communities, but those who find themselves worthy of these dragons company are better for it. If a flight is going to war with another, Monera Dragons know the causation and the events leading up to it. If there's a festival, Monera will know its origins and history. And if you need a book, Monera...may or may not lend it to you, they tend to be very particular about that. Noted alumni include Baldwin the potion brewer and Belzaar the scrying workshop soothsayer.
