Biography
Verdaunt Healer "Surrounded by acorn-headed idiots." Healer. And quite a good one, if he says so himself. Which he does. Frequently. The only trouble is that the others just don’t see that. Has he not saved the lives of several inhabitants at one time or another? He deserves a medal for that! Or at the very least, some kind of recognition by somebody. But no! They can go get lost in the Labyrinth for all he cares. Or be used for compost. That’s all they’re good for anyway. In spite of his moaning and groaning (and inflated opinion of himself), Verdaunt does see whoever needs him, no matter what time of day (or night) it is. His bedside manner needs a bit of work, but his methods often have positive results. Knowledgeable about the medicinal effects of various plants, and can usually find the ones needed to treat various ailments without much trouble. As a youngster, he was fairly normal. Admittedly he had more of an interest in plants/medication than other members of his family, but otherwise he was just like every other young dragon. It wasn’t until he started trying to treat others (to be honest…he made some rather expensive mistakes in the very early days) that anyone realised that maybe this wasn’t a phase. After all, it’s not every day that your child comes home and begins telling you about how he tried to treat someone’s fever. They tried to get him an apprenticeship with the clan’s healer, but Verdaunt’s arrogant nature made said healer throw the towel in after a few days. Well that, plus the fact that he kept finding fault with the way they treated their patients. Disillusioned with his former teacher, Verdaunt decided it was time to leave. Perhaps he could find a clan that would appreciate his talents. That took him…a while. And honestly, Barra only took him on because he was in desperate need of a healer. Still, at least Verdaunt had finally found somewhere his talents could be put to use. …The others really do need to recognise that he’s a brilliant healer though.
