The clan needed funds, and so Kintsugi picked up two dragons to train. But one of them was... similar to her. As soon as she finished training the pair and send one of them to the dominance battle, she remained silent in front of the fae she was about to exalt.
"...", the imperial didnt say a word. So the fae took initiative.
"You have realised too, havent you? We have the same scales! are you maybe thinking that we could be family?" The smaller dragon told to the elder with an uncanny smile in her face.
"Uh, yes..." Kintsugi added. The fae booped the imperial's snoot and guided her to the scrying workshop. They threw one of their scales to the cauldron, and indeed they were related. More specifically, they were cousins!
"...Do you want to stay? we could battle together from now on..." The imperial said a bit shily, not knowing well how to react to her newly found family member.
"I would love to! Dont worry my dear cousin, I will help you with anything you need!"

And from that moment, they became inseparable, the fae often being on Kintsugi's shoulder, helping her speak to other dragons when she didnt find the words to talk.
