Biography
▬▬ BALURINN, Treasurer ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ♢♢♢ The Aurum | Clan Lore Balurinn is a quiet, cold, and untalkative dragon. She is considered standoffish by her peers, and rarely keeps company. As the treasurer of the Aurum, most money matters go through her. She, like many in the Aurum, has never been ‘good’. Balurinn’s heart is ruled by nothing but her whims and her avarice. She goes where the money goes, or wherever else she wants - unlike many high up dragons of the Aurum, she does not allow herself to be tied down to the group. This ever-existing chance of her leaving has put many other members of the Aurum on edge. |

There was, years ago, an aberration named Bassidurinn. The two heads, once close, grew to hate each other due to their vastly contrasting personalities. And so, with the use of a scroll, they separated. What was one was now two: Bassidera and Balurinn. They eventually went their separate ways - they couldn't stand each other, after all. Balurinn, following her heart, found her way to the Aurum. She quickly made connections to the dragons in the top, aweing them with the innovative ways she made money. Although cautious, they gave Balurinn a job taking care of the funds of the Aurum. |
♢ Lore Notes ________________________________ • "still wearing contacts, I see" - Bassidera to Balurinn, at some point • As they were once one dragon (and even despite her dislike of him) she and Bassidera have no personal space when it comes to each other. They still don't see themselves as fully separated. |
♢ Design/Other Notes ________________________________ • Retains the horns from being an aberration, and her tail is permanently kinked. • When the transformation happened, her third eye was replaced by a horn. • Steel/dirt/robin (pinstripe/saddle/capsule) Sorry girl I'm about to ruin you sable/ice/orca bubblegum/overcast/soil iris/thistle/mint crimson/dirt/mauve umber/stonewash/chocolate lapis/royal/carmine silver/gold/pearl |
a night meeting wrote:
Balurinn hadn’t even noticed the presence in her room until it spoke.
“My, not even a glance. Your senses really have dulled, living this high life.” The presence’s voice taunted. Although shocked by the sudden night visit, Balurinn didn’t jump- this was no stranger to her.
“Idra, why must you show up where you are unwelcome?” Balurinn sighed. She closed her spendings log and finally turned around to face her unwanted visitor. The dark skydancer, Idra, had already made himself comfortable. His feathers blew in the breeze, as did the curtains from the freshly opened window - his entryway.
“Unwelcome? Baluchi, please, that's quite rude.” Idra snickered in mock offense. He got up and strutted uncomfortably close to Balurinn, but she didn’t seem to react. He squinted at her and asked “since when did you ever follow rules?”
“It's always advised to be on your guard with dangerous dragons,” Balurinn said flatly. “But enough with that. Your annoying habit of dancing around the point is rearing its ugly head. Get on with it.”
“And I see you’re just as… amiable as ever.” Idra sighed. He drew away from Balurinn and once more sat in one of her chairs. “How would you feel about joining-”
“This again?”
“Shut it. Gods, you’re so annoying to deal with, it's no wonder we left each other.” With a deep breath, perhaps to cool down, Idra continued. “Our lord has agreed to let you join us, if you so wish.”
“Ugh, fine. I'll consider thinking about it if it’ll shut you up,” Balurinn grimaced.
“Ah, that's more like it!” Idra laughed. “Whatever would I do without my better half?”
Balurinn glanced up at Idra with her face contorted into a sneer. “Before we split you seemed insistent that you were the superior half.” She stopped and thought for a second. “Does your king really trust me?”
“Only one way to find out,” snickered Idra. He shrugged and glanced at Balurinn through the corner of his eye. “I just told him we are one and the same.”
“Maybe you think that-” Balurinn started, annoyed by her other half's sneaky gaze. Her protests were interrupted by a shuffle from behind the door to the hallway.
“It’s rude to eavesdrop, love!” Bassidera called out to the stranger outside before Balurinn swatted his mouth shut with her claws.
“You may be my other half,” she spat, “but I won’t care to protect you if you get caught.” She gestured toward the window. “Out. Now.”
Disgruntled, Bassidera awkwardly shifted his wings and fluffed his feathers in annoyance. He gave one last look at Balurrinn before leaping out of the window and taking to the sky. Soon after he was outside his figure faded into the dark night.
