Biography
The Whisper on the Wind
Callum has always been an erratic soul. His innate Spiral nature keeps him on the move constantly, which got him into much trouble whilst growing up. Repeatedly being reprimanded by others in the clan -even amongst his own flight mates- didn't seem to put a stop to the endless gibbering that poured forth from his maw. Despite the cold shoulder from others and the inherent bullying that comes with being "the most annoying dragon- even by Spiral standards", Callum always felt the need to be of use. It didn't take long for his companions to realize that they could use this to their advantage; sending him on fetch quests that were all but impossible just to catch a few moments of silence. As a prank, dragons began asking Callum to deliver messages to their friends only to have them swallowed up by the Spiral's obnoxious voice. Oblivious to his flight mates' true intent, Callum would oblige just about anyone who came to him with a quip to tell a friend.
Months went by, and eventually Callum became well known by just about every dragon in the clan. While he was still used a majority of the time as a primitive spam call, others began to see the efficiency of having a dragon around who could zip away to relay messages at a moment's notice. Quips and jeers were being replaced with genuine requests, and before long his helpfulness caught the clan leaders' gazes. When they received word of a beastclan horde on a collision course with the currently outstanding hunting party, Callum was first on their minds. Fitting him with light armor in case of an attack on the way, they sent him off to warn their allies. Bringing everyone back unharmed, the leaders saw the importance of communication over distance, and gave Callum the clan's first courier title.
A large ceremony was held in the center of the camp, naming Callum the official courier so that all could see and accept his new title. He was given an enchanted airborne parchment in front of every dragon; cementing his role and giving him a place to record all the messages to come.
