Foliage Friend "Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms." |

When one thinks of dragons, most of the time they picture majestic creatures soaring through the sky. Noble forms against the background of blue, or stars, filling the lesser, land-bound creatures with awe. Though there are some who cannot or do not fly, it is always the minority, and usually not a choice made on purpose. Groot always felt like he was going to fly off the world whenever he used his wings. Something about not being able to feel the ground under his feet made him feel as if he was completely unsafe. He stumbled through his flying lessons as a hatchling, and avoided flying whenever he possibly could. Unfortunately, his family had other ideas on how a dragon should act. When he realized that he would never be accepted for his quirk in his own clan, Groot ran away from his family when they kept pressing him to "fly like a real dragon". Surely, somewhere and some way, there was a way he could always be connected to the earth. Without knowing where he was going, Groot wandered and searched and questioned. While most of the time his questions were met with odd looks and sometimes downright suspicion, Groot eventually got lucky. In a forest just outside of Chaotic Daydreams, the bogsneak found a tree who wanted to experience life as a dragon, and traded abilities and bodies with him. At first the dragon was sure he had gone mad when the dreams he had under the tree proffered the deal, but - figuring it was just a dream - he accepted. And in the morning when he woke, he found his body changed. While he still appears to be a dragon, and can move if he absolutely has to, Groot is a mobile tree. An instinct (and inaudible call) led him into the territory of Chaotic Daydreams and he found a place in the Arboreal Expanse to put down his roots. When he was discovered, he was greeted with much enthusiasm by the denizens of this very strange lair. Here, he feels grounded both physically and mentally, and his heart has never been more at peace. |
