Nrem

Midnight fire. Dream weaver. Maker of pillows, blankets and beds. Defeater of nightmares, upsets and unrest.

a master of the dream arts and pillow/futon/blanket maker. Often called to provide rest, alleviate pain and defeat deamons of the heart and troubles of the sleeping mind.

Origins:

Nrem originates from the waters around the Pox Consulate, where the ice egg was fished out of the waters. The ice egg likely bobbed to the surface from near a water lair.

Long ago, a fierce summer storm (brought on by the clash of warmer and colder tides from the spiral keep) swept the eggs away (since early on the eggs could die if the nest was not incubated each day, it's from that time period) from Evangeline who (was adjusting to her new lair and the strange, yet exciting lands around and) had been caught unawares in the tidal churning.

She was beaten against the jagged walls of the trench and barely escaped with her life, but when she came to, wounded and saved by members of her clan, she knew her clutch was lost, as the shells could not stand such battery, but she hoped her own inherent power would provide her eggs with enough life to weather the storm long enough to come to this world. They would be foundlings, something she herself had vowed against, but as foundlings they would have life and from that they would be able to make anything, just like she had. The coatl prayed for their spines to be strong and their life to be bright before making peace with their fate from her failings.

However, at least one egg survived, tossed about and trapped in the whimsy hazards of the Spiral keep, the wildly changing currents and severe pressure keeping the dragon from hatching. Years later, when the life faded halfway into the realm of dreams, the weathered egg was fished out of the waters near the Pox Consulate and lovingly incubated.



As this nature clan grew disillusioned with the plague-nature armistice, Nrem grew up in turbulent times, which made him more conscious and curious of his origins. Using the energy traces lingering in his core and on his eggshell, he traveled the shrouded lands to the south.

In the following years he went on a training trip in the shadow domain after gathering his resolve to find his birth-lair.

Because ambient energy influences egg element, it makes sense for Nrem to be born while Evangeline was travelling to her lair through the ice domain. The ambient energies of all other lands the egg spend in would influence his magic alignment, thus making him capable of spells and skills native to the ice, water and shadow domains.

Personality and skills

Nrem takes after Evangeline character wise, being quiet, reserved and affectionate. Despite his large and sturdy build, he's sweet, especially towards friends. The obelisk shies away from physical fights and his offensive power comes solely from his ability creating illusions. His further mastery of dream arts allow him to shape the subconscious worlds to manipulate dreams into nightmares and vice versa. This ability to visit minds that he has explored before, regardless of distance makes him an effective messenger and spy.

Nrem has found his way back to his parent eventually and has been inspired to advance his illusion/dream magic due to Evangeline. Because he was unable to learn her skills, since his magic is weaker in the areas she's strong in, he mostly absorbed certain ways of thinking and channeling.

Eventually He's going to move to the Islet to find a rare book on his magic and to trace his dad, which is where Nrem will gain most of his combat style.
