Biography
Aelia was a child of the sun, hatched into a watermelon patch just as the sun was dawning over the horizon. She looked at the yellows and golds and pinks and reds the sun had painted across the sky and with a quick flash, gold lines appeared on her, following the lines of her belly scales, along the edges of her wings, and around her frills and on her face. The lines felt just like the sun, warming her gently. Aelia began to glow with happiness. The strips of sun along her body started to glow, just like the sunrise, and rose until they were quite bright. Her parents ran over to her, wondering if something could be hurting their precious daughter, but she was fine, and in fact very happy. Aelia had been gifted by the sun.
She and her parents soon found out something else- Aelia was deaf. But she was also incredibly brilliant. The clan had a dragon who specialized in the language of frill flicks and tail swishes and claw movements come over from another clan, and he taught Aelia and all the clan sign language. She learned this quickly, and moved on to learning to read and write at an early age. She learned that her strips of sun were controlled by her emotions, strong emotions she would flare up and be too bright to look at, and milder emotions would make a softer light. And in all of Aelia’s life, her strips have never gone completely dark, and she hopes they never will.
The Workshop
She has recently begun to work in Dyri’s workshop, for as soon as she entered it she knew it was her place. The place she was meant to be. Dyri being one of the most fluent in sign language taught her all she knew, and Aelia began to tinker with the scraps of metal lying around. Testing out different things. She explained her idea to Dyri and together they got to work. Soon, a dragon came to life in their hands. I know what u your thinking, stop thinking it. This dragon was made out of steel, and bolts, and small enough to fit in their hands. And, they created a pair of gloves, too. The gloves communicated movements to the drone (they had taken to calling it that) and the drone would follow them. It took some experimentation, but soon they could make the drone lift off into the air and fly around. It appeared just a joyful toy.But Aelia was also born into a war. A war between the peaceful melons and the forgotten fruits and the awful coatl with his beastclans. And Aelia could never be directly on the battlefield, as she would not be able to hear an enemy from behind. So she prepared herself one day that she would have to create weapons in Dyri’s workshop and not toys, and that day could be soon.
