Eye-covering bangs! A resonant angsty backstory! Blue hair! Androgynous girl in a suit! Super cool and creepy powers and a genuinely fascinating premise that manages to be perfectly dark without just producing apathy! I'd wanted to watch Tokyo Ghoul ever since hearing a cover of Unravel back in 2019 and seeing references to it on TVtropes, but it wasn't on any of my streaming services so it wasn't until 2022 that I actually got around to it. It's intense and dark, certainly, but it's got a really sleek visual aesthetic and a cool premise if you're into angst, urban fantasy, black sclerae, creepy awesome powers, and people exploding into fountains of blood, which I totally am.
