Biography
Void is a dragon who never speaks. Nobody has any idea of what his voice sounds like. He and Cas have touched noses before and often go on walks together, but even she claims he doesn't talk to her, that he was born mute. He is silent and mysterious, slinking around the camp alone and going about his business without letting anyone else into his business. Sparrowe has attempted to communicate with him on many occasions. Although he will follow orders when they are given to him, he cannot answer questions without running to get a pen and paper.
"I live as a ghost, only showing myself through words on paper and those around me. The ones who understand me."
"I keep my mouth shut. It almost looks like it's not there. Hence, the name Void. I was born this way."
The dragon has a small book that he keeps track of little notes in. It's quite mysterious, containing random snippets of his life and descriptions of himself and Cas. He's described times where she talked to him and he replied, although we don't know if he wrote his replies down for her, or if he's writing what he mentally wanted to say.
He feels strongly about the topic of Veilspuns and Spirals having a relationship even though they're from two different ages. Obviously, he believes it's not about laying nests; it's about spending quality time with someone important to you. Vivid descriptions of going on hikes, hunting together, and flying with Cas are within his journal. They may not have been related by blood, but they were brother and sister to the end.
Void smiled as he and Cas strode through the woods, talons brushing through the fern fronds growing in armies on the ground. The birds chirped overhead and the sun was high in the sky, giving light to the entire forest.
Void felt safe.
"You ever wonder what it'd be like to be a beetle?" Cas said, eyes following the form of a ladybug flying around overhead. "The world would be so much bigger. Ferns would be like big trees, and the actual trees..." Cas looked up at the woods in awe. Void looked up as well, struggling to imagine trees twenty times as big as the ones around him.
The pair came across a patch of dirt that grass wasn't growing on. "Hey, Void? I have a question."
Void raised his eyebrows at her.
"Why is it that you can't talk?"
Void used his talon dig the words "hatched without vocal cords" into the dirt.
"Woah... wait, so why did I find you alone in the woods?"
"Was abandoned," Void wrote in reply.
Cas looked at him sadly. "I'm sorry," she said. Then she did something that surprised him. She padded forward and hugged him. As she went to pull away, a strand of her hair got caught on his horn and they both laughed (or at least, Void grinned and Cas laughed). Void helped her disentangle the hair from his head, then they both continued on their walk.
