Hadrian did not grow up in the lair - he spent most of his childhood in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, but, unlike most other hatchlings, his interest lay not in playing and toying around with the Shadowbinder's treasures, but in analyzing and studying them, for even at that age he felt the calling of archaeology. When he was old enough to leave the lair, he relocated to the Sunbeam Ruins. While the architecture there was most interesting, some of the Light dragons shunned him, probably because of his mauve eyes, and he left to a place more welcoming - something the Windswept Plateau could offer. And there he found companionship, and, according to Rokhshana, much more besides.
