"How many can say they've ever been this close?"

Takodje's story is intimately tied with Triumvirate's, and with the unstable magic of Arcane. It is two dragons in one, created as a wonder of magic, a miracle of science, a sigh of relief, and a shard of more sinister potential.
The two heads are Inu (curled horns, two eyes) and Neko (pointed horns, three eyes).

Short after the Plague Ancients were discovered, their existence relayed to the Oculus of the Eleven, the more scientific (and less ethical) dragons of the Drachany'a clan started drafting plans. If two minds could coexist like that, and if bodies could be changed permanently with strong enough spells, it could be a way to create chimeric creatures of their own designs. Naturally, their gazes turned to Triumvirate, the living Emperor, and their constant struggling components - Neko, Inu, and Yokai.
Turing was the first to isolate the magical signature of the recent seen Aberrations. Along with the clan's many alchemists and mages, and some components bargained off of Galore's claws, she crafted a rough scroll, intended to separate the three dragons within Triumvirate. The process would be, in theory, simple: The partial magics within it would not be enough to turn all of the amalgamate into an Aberration, but they should be enough to create one using the souls and minds of Inu and Neko as a blueprint. As for Yokai, he would have complete control of their previous Imperial body, so other concoctions were made to stabilize him in the aftermath: from potions to teas to silk scarf ropes.
When all the three beings of Triumvirate had agreed to the procedure, knowing very well their lives could be lost or forever changed, the rituals began. The scrolls were put in place, their raggedy body contained, and the magic essence of all the present dragons poured into the attempt. With time, the body of the quasi-Emperor began to spasm and weaken, and a rough outline, unstable and fragile, took shape before their eyes. It cried out in pain with two voices, familiar yet foreign, the magic creating their new body also unstable enough to tear it apart before it could be solidified. Wait, solidified! In a fit of inspiration and fear, Inu yelled for Matcha, the clan's oldest Obelisk, to grant them her stoneshape. She couldn't, they were not her kind, but hearing their desperation, she tried... And the Aberration fell, unconscious but solid, over beaten twinkling grass.
It took weeks for the newly formed dragon to awaken. Triumvirate had survived the ritual, a single mind, Yokai's, taking on the previous name of the collective, like a rebirthed Cesar. And now, Neko and Inu had survived, and could learn how to thrive in this new, aberrant shape. Some of the older dragons looked at the pair with disgust, but the heartlights did not mind. They were free of the intruder, the dragon that had tried to kill them, and could once more embrace each other as lovers. They took on the name Takodje, meaning "as well", to indicate they were never alone. And they never wanted to be.

From the depths of her lab, carved into crystal and hidden with tree sap, Turing shaked her frills in excitement. It worked. What else could she do next?
