but he doesn't mind too much. PERSONALITY A sweet-natured lad, young Percival Calhoun was employed by the clan by his own request and eventually ended up in the Trade & Transport department of the Administrative Branch, working under the Viaferre. Despite the Viaferre's general standoffishness when it comes to new individuals, the two have come to work rather closely, helped by young Calhoun's energetic and driven nature. Generally, Cal is considered a helpful colleague to have around, always willing to pitch in if he's got nothing else to do, and a lovely, amiable member of the clan community. ABOUT Laid and hatched in the far reaches of the Southern Icefield, young Percival Calhoun was snow-pale for most of his youth - far longer even than his siblings - before his darker markings came in after several months working with the clan of Tethys. While his boss is somewhat superstitious about his new markings, Cal's mostly just relieved they finally came in - he feels he fits in with the clan far better now he doesn't have to dust off every sooty smudge that gets on his hide. Unusually for one hatched in Ice, Cal hates the cold - and indeed, that's a good part of why he moved to the Ashfall Wastes. The other reason was his love of innovation. The Clan of Tethys is known for their unusual way of tackling various things, and when he learned about their expansion of minecarts in to railroads and tramways, he was deeply intruiged. Hence his journey to the clan, hence his application, and hence his moving rapidly out of his apprenticeship with Ucille and onto working directly for the Viaferre. The Viaferre, of course, remains exceedingly wary of dealing with people unaware of his prior crimes, which in no way stopped Cal. Instead the young dragon used tea-break chatter to learn all he could, and it has reached a point where the clan generally accepts that the only one to know the Viaferre better than Calhoun is the Viaferre himself. Possibly not even the Viaferre. It is Calhoun who has his boss' coffee ready before he even arrives and it is Calhoun who manages their office. It is Calhoun who liaises with all of the other trade branches - aside from Agnodice, whom he knows the Viaferre enjoys a good chat with. It is Calhoun who is entirely on top of his work and frequently leaves his office to see how his colleagues are doing. There are very few in the Administrative Branch who dislike working with Calhoun. The only one who maybe dislikes working with him is Ghostlight, because her way of working and his are so different, but the two work peaceably apart, and Ghostlight, like the Viaferre himself, fondly calls him young Percival Calhoun. Most of the office, of course, knows that Calhoun has something of a crush on his mentor. Calhoun doesn't deny it, but does prefer to keep it far away from any of his work. His deep admiration and respect for the Viaferre, he says, has no place in the office - and besides, he has a boyfriend. Most dragons did not expect the relationship that sprang up between young Percival Calhoun and the Sentinel, but Sentinel, like the Drone he has clung to since his arrival at the clan, has been moving apart from what he was, and seeking to find out what he may be. While even the couple themselves would not call their relationship simple, it is clear to all who see them together how deeply they care for one another and they very much want to see if they can make things work. So far, they seem to be doing a very good job of it. RELATIONSHIPS
