AKA: "Monty" (to friends); the Viaferre (to trade partners) Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him Profession: Head of Terrestrial Trade; Legalese and Contracts. Interests: Teaching the children, making amends for past mistakes. TREASURES
Memories before his embodying are fragmented, unclear. This journal he keeps as grim reminder of his past actions, that he can make amends.
Much of his time, these days, is spent in his office. Still, sometimes he likes to get his hands dirty doing repairs.
When he'd first woken embodied, he carried it with him. He cannot take it off. It binds all his worst aspects.

PERSONALITY A deeply untrustworthy businessman in his youth, Bernard Geribald Montmorency (Monty to his friends) has long since retired to the clan of Tethys where he teaches youngsters the ins and outs of law and legalese. Still something of a trickster at heart, he is far less malicious than once he was and generally keeps to himself when not teaching or working, considering the reasons he did so many unethical things in his youth and - at times, wondering how he could make amends. Known to those outside the clan as Viaferre, the Iron Road, he's most known for his construction of railway, tramway and minecart systems used to streamline transport around the clan's territory and to other clans. ABOUT Unmade. Unmade, unmade, that he could be unmade, because he does not think he was ever born or hatched. He has never known where he came from, had picked up his names as he went through life - he is Bernard after the first to give him shelter, Geribald after the name he was given at one home, Montmorency after the town where he first started business. He is the Iron Road for his creation, the Viaferre, the blood and bone of the earth used to earn the blood and bone of the living- Was he ever living himself? He is now. He knows he is now. Can poke his chest and feel feather-fur, feel all his storm and shifting air condensed down into physical form, shattered shards of memories that tell him who he was before. He had a purpose before. His own growth and satisfaction, soot and snow and steel - he had not cared for others losses. He cares now. He is a dragon now, a person, not some strange amorphous idea, made and unmade by fears and dread. Now he has fears. Now he has dreads. It strikes him, these days, just how much he cares for those around him. He had never thought it possible before he'd been confronted, rendered down by angry witches into something no longer driven by single, simple purpose. "Would that I were not," he'd whispered to the sky when first it had happened. Unmade, unmade. But he has been made, by fears and dreads, and witch's magic seeking to end them; has had to put a name to his face and claimed all the ones he's known and remembers. He has amends to make, for dragons destroyed and homes harmed. Steel and soot, breaking and burning - but he is good with laws and legalese, understands travel and speed, knows how to tame all his excesses to suit his new goals. And he loves them, that too, these people he has found. He had not known to before, had not known how to, but they took him in without minding, perhaps only one knowing the truth of him, a bundle of broken beings seeking to become despite it all. With them, he can learn to be whole. With them, he can pay back the wrongs he's done. he is trusted - more, perhaps, than he thinks he should be, but he is competent and Alectrona is fearsome for all her small stature; he does his work. He has an office, he has colleagues - he has Calhoun, who's colours could make him almost his child and he does not know what he has done to warrant this. Harm is easy to perpetuate, after all, and it is harder to be kind - and yet here, amongst those shown such cruelties of the world, kindness flourishes. Ghostlight only smiles when he asks, the glow of her belly lighting her counselroom. "Because," she says. "At some point all of us looked at that harm and said no."
