Twin suns sink into the horizon, black stars taking their place among clouded skies. The Lake is silent, still; and Carcosa stands tall. Despite being alone Carcosa is not lonely — for it is a being that has moved past such trifling needs.
It longs for more after a tiresome exile upon this planet. Red eyes peer into the dark waters, searching for an answer to its troubles. It gains a silent reply, and nods in response.
They — Carcosa and Hali — will merge this world with the next, and their power will grow in turn.

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.
