B I O G R A P H Y

Born on the first day of the coldest month of the year, one would think that Blizzeria, especially given her natural appearance, was created from the essence of winter itself. Ever since she was a hatchling, Blizzeria was infatuated with the snow and ice that blanketed the land during winter. Her mother and father, Erina and Zelcetta, would lose track of her in the piles of snow which she would play within, often wondering how she never seemed bothered by the cold. While harmless at the time, though, her love of snow would one day become the cause of great alarm in the clan.

Not long after her birth, a heavy blizzard wracked the land which the clan sat upon. The storm did not start out violent, however, and so Blizzeria's parents thought little to stop her from going out and enjoying the snowfall as she so often would. She wandered far from the clan's borders, enthralled with watching the gentle snowfall and chasing down snowflakes before they could land upon the ground. Before long, however, the winds picked up, and the snow turned from soft, gentle flakes to a relentless barrage of ice.

Startled by the sudden shift in weather, Blizzeria turned to race home before the storm could grow even worse. She tried to follow her tracks, but found they were quickly being covered by the snow, and before long had vanished completely. Now completely lost and alone, she frantically searched for somewhere to take shelter to wait out the storm.

B I O G R A P H Y

Huddled up in the corner of a cave, the howling winds drowned out Blizzeria's quiet sobs. Icy tears fell from her face to the cave's floor, turning to crystalline formations at her feet. At first she did not notice the strange phenomenon, but as the crystals grew to the point they could no longer be ignored, she sat with a start. It was only then that she realized she felt nothing of the cold. Her panic to find her way home had blinded her to the reality that the raging storm had not caused her any harm- though it very much should have.

Gripped with a sudden curiosity, she stood, wiping away her tears and leaving the safety of the cave. To her awe, the relentless, pelting snow seemed to avoid her completely, leaving her unharmed. She didn't understand why this was happening, but she was grateful for the brief moment of respite it brought her before the realization that she was still hopelessly lost set in again. Tears welled in her eyes as she thought of how worried her parents must be. She began to trudge through the snow again, hoping to somehow find her way back- or maybe to a neighboring clan.

By now, the members of Duskbreak had begun a full search of the area surrounding the clan in an effort to find Blizzeria. Erina was in a panic, fearing they may not find her alive in the relentless storm, and it was all Zelcetta could do to keep her calm while their clanmates searched for her. As night fell and the storm grew ever stronger, even his own faith began to waver; until a voice called out, begging for them to come outside.

Hopeful for good news, Zelcetta ushered Erina out from their den to see what was causing the commotion. Though the storm made it difficult to see, their clanmate pointed out the figures approaching from the distance- and though her features could not be seen, they instantly recognized the striking purple of Blizzeria's scales alongside Penumbra, who stumbled through the snow beside her. Without a thought to his own safety, Zelcetta rushed to meet her, taking her in under his wing in a tearful reunion.

When the three had returned safely to the clan, and Blizzeria had been reunited with her mother as well, Penumbra explained to the two how Blizzeria had somehow saved him as well. During his search, he had foolishly attempted to look for her from the skies. His wings could not withstand the cold and ice, however, and he had plummeted into the snow below. Having fallen not far from where Blizzeria had wandered, she heard the sudden crash and came searching for its source. When she found him, her mere presence seemed to cause his frozen wings to thaw, and he was able to escort her safely back home.

No one truly knows where Blizzeria's strange powers came from, but it seemed clear that the incident had somehow awoken them within her. After the storm had passed and the news of what had happened that night spread through the clan, the others began to refer to the young dragon as the "Frigid Princess." As she matured, she gradually began to develop more control over her powers, and is still discovering new ways to utilize them to this day.
