Suraimu always had a fascination with nature. She tired of the dark, gloomy environment of the Shadowbinder's domain, and dreamed of residing within the vivid lands of the Gladekeeper. One night, after months of careful planning, she slipped away while the rest of her clan slept and made her way to the Viridian Labyrinth, eager to start a new life.

It was everything she had hoped for, the lush scenery more beautiful than she could have ever imagined. For a while, she almost forgot that she was still a stranger to this land, lost within what felt like a dream. She was brought back to reality as hunger struck her, and she realized she knew nothing of the flora and fauna that was found in what she hoped to be her new home.

While she thoroughly planned out her escape from her clan, she had thought little about how she would survive once she arrived in the Viridian Labyrinth. For months she wandered, barely managing to stay alive in the unfamiliar land. She was still young, and her clan had taught her to be fearful of others, especially those from different flights, so she never once considered looking to another clan for help.

Suraimu's home clan was a reclusive one. They were infamous for practicing forbidden forms of magic, though their tight-knit community meant that they were never actually caught. Suraimu had learned only a small portion of the magic that was to be passed down to her before abandoning her clan in favor of the wilds of the Labyrinth, though, and it did little to help her survive.

In her now desperate struggle to survive, she snuck into the lair of a Nature clan one night, using her innate stealth to her advantage to steal from their food hoards. She intended only to take enough to survive until she could do so on her own, but before she could make her escape, she was caught. The dragon took her immediately to the clan's leader to decide her fate.

Instead of punishing Suraimu, however, the kindly leader of the Nature clan offered her a place within their ranks. She could tell just by looking at Suraimu's thin frame that she had been starving, and could not turn her away. Suraimu was hesitant to accept, but she had little reasonable choice in the matter. She agreed, grateful for their kindness- but it was not to last for long.

Suraimu had never understood why her home clan was so secretive about the magic they practiced, and was unaware of the consequences of showing it off. She would sometimes demonstrate the magic she knew to the younger members of the clan to impress them, though on occasion it would cause unintended damage. Though the adults had picked up on her strange magic, nothing was ever so major as to deliver heavy repercussions for, and she was allowed to continue- for the time being.

On one fateful afternoon, a small crowd of young dragons had gathered with Suraimu outside of the clan's borders to see a new trick she had come up with. She had discovered a way to give plants the ability to move on their own, and cast her magic on a large flower. The flower began to move, much to the delight of the others. Suraimu had no control over it, however, and in an unfortunate turn, the flower suddenly attacked the young dragons.

Suraimu tried desperately to make it stop, but it would not heed her commands. Any attempts to destroy the flower only resulted in it growing larger and stronger. Those that were not under attack hurried back to the clan, bringing the clan's warriors back with them to fend off the rogue plant. For the skilled warriors, it was a simple task- but several of her new friends were hurt before they arrived. The leader that had brought her in arrived shortly after, looking upon Suraimu with a grave disappointment.

While she would have preferred not to, she worried that Suraimu's magic would become increasingly more destructive before she could learn to control it. As a result, with a heavy heart, her adoptive leader banished her from the clan. With nowhere to go, and unable to return to her old clan, she reluctantly left in search of yet another new home.

Her aimless wanderings led her to the far edges of the Viridian Labyrinth, and eventually she found herself at the border of the Earthshaker's domain. The magic of living in the forests and fields of the labyrinth had long since lost its luster to her, tarnished by the painful memory of the home she'd lost- and so she decided to wander further, delving into the barren, rocky expanse of Dragonhome.

It was within this region that she found her new home with Duskbreak- a clan who was accepting of her magic, and more than happy to give her a safe home. Her experience with the Nature clan caused her to use her magic much more sparingly, and she spent her time learning how better to control it, rather than showing it off. Now, many years later, she uses her magic primarily to assist Lyricen in growing plants in the inhospitable environments the clan resides within.
