Nereus the Old Man of the Sea and Nereid the Maren Scout.

Eldest son of primordial Pontus and Gaia.
He is the husband of Doris, by whom he became the father of 50 daughters, the beautiful Nereids.
Nereus is an old man. He is reliable and gentle 		_________________________________________
and does not forget the laws of righteousness,
but thinks just and kindly thoughts. The names
of his daughters express the various graces of
the sea.
