Mad Scientist

There is a way and I will find it.

A shooting star...

Worried by the Arcane meteor and unsure what could have precipitated it, Terviskhar has set out, with the clan-leaders' permission, for the Starfall Isles to see if he can find out what has caused these events. So far there is much chatter about the return of the Aether—but no answers as to why they would have sent a meteor streaking over the southern Ashfall Waste.

*

Terviskhar has returned to find Tarandrus has already provided explanations ahead of him. He bears no resentment to the antlered tundra, however, and has filled in additional information where he can.

*

Despite the natural rivalries of Nature with both Plague and Arcane, Terviskhar is quite happy with the festivities this year. Perhaps Nature suggests a new direction for his studies to go in...?

12192.png

Terviskhar is one of the clan's newer members. Clever and curious he welds Arcane investigation with Plague tenacity, delving into the mysteries of anatomy and magic with bloodyminded determination. Unsurprisingly for an aberration, he is somewhat paranoid and ill-mannered, which makes him a perfect fit for the likes of Elkrekeodh, Kellinlii, or the Twins.

Unlike most aberrations, Terviskhar is alone in his body. His three-eyed head never developed correctly, and has only the most basic reflexes: blinking, breathing, and snapping occasionally at objects and insects that pass close by. One of his major projects is trying to find some way, any way, to come by a proper partner, whether it involve surgical separation and rebonding or infusing some spirit into the current head. Persuant to this, he is studying necromancy, surgery, planeswalking, and conjointments in other creatures like modern dragons and certain beastfolk.

Terviskhar is well-liked by the other miscreants, and by those who share aberration views on preparation and survival. The exceptions are primarily Aput and Arenite, whose scholarly formality clashes with his down-and-dirty attempts at field research and coarse experimentation. He is very fond of Hiirkaen and Keaia, whose reunion after so many seasons gives him hope he may one day resolve his own condition.

Craft
Terviskhar's main crafts at the moment are an assortment of metallic charms that let dragons peer intermittently into other planes. They are a bit crude and simple, both in appearance and effects, but are a promising start.

Physical description
Terviskhar is a medium-sized, rangy aberration with fairly large wings. He is particularly graceful for an aberration, since he has no rival or partner to fight or negotiate with, and need not split control his body with anyone. The three-eyed head, with its vacant stare, gives him a somewhat off-putting affect, which he often defrays by covering it in a hood or blanket. He has an unpleasantly chemical Arcane smell, and like most aberrations is a strong swimmer.

Combat
Like most abberations, Terviskhar is driven to become stronger, but he is held back by his lack of partner. How can he truly learn to fight without a brother beside him? And when he succeeds, he will doubtless have to relearn everything he's learned. Still, he's found success fighting alongside Spearmint and Colada.

Origin
Terviskhar came to Cindercone Clan early in the Season of Wind, apparently on the recommendation of a fellow aberration who had been hosting with them. Prior to that, he dwelt in the Wyrmwound, though he rarely spent much time in his adoptive tribe as he traveled around looking for others who were afflicted with malformations like his. As such, he knew of one-headed Keaia by reputation.

Kin
Terviskhar does not speak of his kin. Since he was hatched a tundra, his memories of them are vague and wistful, and to think of them is to bitterly miss them.

Familiar
Having tamed one minmi, Terviskhar diverted on to an iguanodor until Stormweaver beseeched him to trade. Now stuck with the other, he is less than amused to find much the same magic around the Lowjaw as the Shardback. Still, he knows the tricks for training one, and the clan's gardeners are grateful for the soil aeration.
