Mirror Walker
Princess of the Mirror Realm
Quiet || Regal || Perceptive
Personality
|
Shatter has the personality of a Queen. She is regal, and unreactive to most things that happen around her. She shows little emotion towards other dragons, and is difficult to get along with. When she does, rarely, attempt to get along with others, she shows the stange habit of mimicry. Not in the manner of a Nocturne, exactly, but more wrong. She mimics movements almost perfectly, and can mimic speaking styles with alarming precision. She never attempts to mimic the sound of people's individual voices, though. In addition, Shatter is very perceptive. It's almost impossible to lie to her, even about simple things. She seems to know other dragons better than they know themselves. Some of the more paranoid dragons in the clan believe that she can eavesdrop on conversations and events through the mirrors many dragons have in their homes. Shatter won't deny or admit to that ability, but she seems to get slightly upset when she finds out a dragon has covered their mirror. |

Story
|
Shatter was born on a cold night in the Mirror Realm. Immediately, she was set apart. The healers and midwives whispered about Bad Luck and Evil in her future. After all, she hadn't inherited her father's pristine, glass appearance. There were whispers that her mother was Shattered like her, but Shatter never got the chance to meet or see her mother. Her father, for all of his flaws, didn't seem to mind Shatter's appearance and supposed 'Cursed Future'. He scoffed at the medics and midwives and named her Shatter to spite their misgivings about the new Princess of the Mirror Realm. As Shatter grew, she noticed more and more whispers following her around. And more and more guards. Despite her many protests, her father had continued to assign guards to her. Shatter knew that she couldn't argue with him about the guards, so she began to slowly drive them away. On cold wet nights, Shatter would step outside and stand in the pouring rain with the guards. They shivered in their metal armor, but Shatter smiled. She kept the warming charm well hidden in her royal cloak and didn't feel even a slight bit chilly. Then, she began to push them to their limits. Shatter would regularly go on outings; climbing the to the tops of mountains and flying down from them swiftly. She would go into the nearby town at its busiest time and weave through the crowds of people, hoping to lose her guards. Finally, Shatter began to notice them slowly dwindling in numbers. On the day that the last one quit, Shatter spent an hour preening in her room and celebrating. It was worth her father's anger in order to feel free once more. Until her father assigned to her a Knight. Shatter hated the tundra with all of her might from the moment he was assigned to her and made to follow her around everywhere. No matter what she tried, he wouldn't quit like the guards had. It made her itch, to be followed around like a child. She knew her Knight, Fracture, was meant to be sending updates to the King. Shatter hated the idea of all of her secrets and actions during the day being relayed to her father. As time went on, Shatter began to do more extreme things to try and rebel against her father. This all came to a head when she met a Captromancer (or Mirror Witch) by the name of Mary. Shatter knew she shouldn't trust this witch, but she slowly began to enjoy being in her company. Fracture protested intensely and threatened to tell the King of Shatter's new friend, but he never did. Despite his orders to relay all information to the King, Fracture couldn't find it in himself to get Shatter into this much trouble for something he thought he could fix by himself. It was only when Mary had cemented her plan that Shatter realized how dangerous the Witch really was. She had stolen Shatter's blood, and had wormed her way into the royal household. One moment Mary was merely a friend, and then Shatter woke up to the news of her father marrying Mary. Shatter had tried to fight back. But when the full force of Mary's magic sent her spiraling through the mirror and into the Other World, she knew that Mary had won the fight. Fracture, loyal as always, followed her through the mirror without hesitation. Now, the only thing standing in their way is glass. And Shatter is determined to get back to her realm and to take back her throne and save her father. |

Relationships
Fracture Protector Fracture and Shatter come from the same strange place. And yet they do not treat eachother as equals. Fracture is subservient, for the most part to Shatter, and is constantly attempting to protect her and follow her around to make sure she does not get into any trouble. He is her Knight, in the Mirror World, and he hasn't forgotten that simply because they are in the real world now. Despite Shatter's protests Fracture sticks by her side. |
