Biography

Renden: Spirit Keeper
Adopted from Renessa47 (2014)
Permanent
Formally a pearlcatcher, scrolled into a nocturn after waaayyy too much grinding on the first NoN.

At one time, long ago, Renden was a Pearlcatcher. Although he'd felt attuned to the magic and to this day, treats his pearl with the utmost care, he knew deep down this form was not for him. One faithful night during the winter season, Nocturnes flooded the sky and he felt more at home with them than ever he did his own kind. This is who he was meant to be and he became desperate to join their celebration. The Nocturne whispered to him tales of a mystical scroll that could grant his wish. It lie hidden within the thousands of strange chests scattered throughout Dragonhome.

Renden searched frantically digging until his claws were sore, he opened countless chests only to be greeted with buttrocks and bears and trinkets he despaired. Perhaps the nocturne had tricked him, perhaps the scroll did not exist? "Keep looking" they whispered "Our goddess is merciless in her tricks, but she rewards richly those who play along." . So he persevered. He dug and fought monsters until he felt his all his hope lost and in that moment, in that final chest, where he expected another Nocturne Puppet to mock him... was a scroll.

***

While Renden may appear frightening on the surface, for the living at least, he is nothing to be afraid of. As a pearlcatcher, he'd developed a keen sense for the abundant restless spirits of Dragonhome and made it his life's mission to calm as many as he could. The ancient land of dragonkind however, is home to equally ancient horrors. While Renden also seeks to calm these malevolent spirits, his costume is an elaborate facade meant to give them pause, if only briefly enough to work his magic.
