The sharp thorn often produces, the most delicate rose.

Having found shelter in a lair comprised mainly of her own kind, Komali huddled by a small fire while a careful and silent Coatl tended her wounds. Opposite her sat a pair of mirrors, the leaders of this strange clan. They watched her carefully and finally the matriarch spoke, "Why are you here?" Komali lifted herself from the ground on shaking legs; she was still weak from her escape. Her brilliant coloring caught the fire's light and a dazzling show erupted on the walls. She heard a few quiet gasps from the shadows beyond her vision.
"I am from the royal court of what was once the Hewn City. Deposed and hunted, I seek a moment's rest," she declared holding her head high. Yet her fatigue was obvious and she succumbed, laying herself once again on the hard ground near the fire.

Keitah nodded and turned away from her, leaving without another word. Realtai would mend her; after that, the real interrogation could begin.
