Biography
Aquarynne is a hatchling dedication given to the Clan of Eons by her mother Marissa as part of her loyalty to Zarazne the Earthbound. Her father is the famous Jadus the Wanderer who is often gone travelling as a fighter, bard, and trader. In her father's absence, and because her mother does not believe she can offer her much in the way of knowledge or guidance, Aquarynne has been taken under the wing of Zarazne to train for the Guardians Epoch. Zarazne hopes for Aquarynne to one day follow in her footsteps and take up the mantle of the Earthbound and Guardian of the Earthshaker's realm. Aquarynne is not motivated by battle, and despite her obvious talent for it, she would much rather be reading stories or travelling the world. She is forced by obligation to her mother's loyalty to the clan and Zarazne's wishes to be the best hope for the legacy of the Earthbound, though she resents it with her whole heart.
She is often pitted against Hope as a rival, though she and Hope became fast friends and refer to one another as sisters. Zarazne had hoped that their rivalry might have improved the obvious lack of prowess Hope displays and fueled Aquarynne's thirst for battle, but such was not the case.
When Hope is too badly bruised up by the training or Aquarynne has become too woeful and despairing, the two often sneak away to explore the Sanctum and further into the Earthshaker's realm to goof around.
"Aunt Zarazne, I am just not cut out to be a warrior. Besides, what is the point of this endless battling for Dominance? Wasn't the Earthshaker once the great uniter of the dragonkind? Isn't that the whole point of the story of the Pillar?"
"The Earthshaker needs his loyal paladins to assert Dominance so the very history of the Pillar is not destroyed and overrun by the likes of the Flamecaller, or the Stormcatcher, or the Plaguebringer, or worse, the Shade, who would see it destroyed for good. Do you want to see the Pillar gone and destroyed forever?" Zarazne's gaze was hard as granite as she leaned onto her haunches to stare down at the young Guardian.
"...No..." sighed Aquarynne, hanging her head, chastised.
Zarazne's tone softened as she leaned down to take the face of the young dragon in her claw. "You will one day be a great warrior, Aquarynne. You will bring great honor on the name of the Guardians, and the Earthshaker will grant you an eternal place by his side."
"What if I don't want eternal glory or to be the last hope for the Guardians?" replied the young woman, turning her face away.
"Then you will learn to accept your fate, one day."
