a silent hunter, seeking something greater.
beneath the depths of the world, something lurks.
they've known. they've always known - visions of a canine much like them guiding their every step forward. whispers of a civilization long lost, figments of people that are no longer there.
alternate, known as the affectionate name 'altie' by others (much to her disapproval), has seen many lands and many peoples. though she seems young and full of youthful vigor, she is anything but childish. her body may be frail, but she makes up for it in speed and sharp wit. she is cunning, and that has kept her alive. alive to seek the greatest secret that's haunted her in her youth.
to, one day, find the root of all corruption.
beneath the earth, something pulses. she can almost feel it in each step she takes. flickers of memories that are not her own vex her. she doesn't know the path there, but she knows that if she does not search, an answer will never be found.
she can find a cure.
she must reach the end.
two of those she knows closer than most are succumbing already to their mysterious illness. more will follow. perhaps she will be next. but she must get there - she must. she has no choice...
... if she must be a hero, a savior, a martyr in the place of others - she will.
