The elders want me to find a mate. They love the idea of young love, of lust, of new nests for the lair.

When I said I had no interest in nesting, they pointed me to Vickers. Now don't get me wrong, Vicky is wonderful, but I'm not interested in drakes either.

I just... I have no interest in it.

And when I say that, they look confused.
And disappointed.
And it hurts.

Maybe... I'm just broken.

I wish for less advances to be made on me. Once it seems I'm not interested, they don't even stick around. Friendship based on sexual interests? Singer, this is awful.

There's been a few friendly ones. Mara the most outright. I spurned her advances long ago, but she still comes around to talk, to hang out. It's nice, compared to some of the others. She doesn't ask for advice on how to turn down advances, or how to look "cool", or how to flirt (as if I know how). She's always been kinda, if a bit too flirty.

I suppose if I had interest, it would be her.

I really like talking to her.

...I wish I could be that for her.

But I can't.

She'll find someone.

Haven't seen Mara around today. Usually she's around first thing in the morning and we get breakfast together.

Come to think of it, she was listless yesterday.
